The fit was perfect, no sanding or tweaking required. The floor installers stained them to match the rest of the floor perfectly. I would buy these again in a heartbeat. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Three Stars *by A***R on July 26, 2016* These are NOT the drop in models! wish I could find drop in ones on Amazon!!! ### ⭐ Does Not fit a 4" x 10" Opening, It is 4.5" x 10.75" *by S***A on July 13, 2016* We have red oak registers in our family room, unfortunately in high traffic areas. Over time, guests have stepped right on top of them cracking and breaking them. We ordered 4 of these to replace the broken ones and have an extra on hand. The holes in our floors are exactly 4 inches x 10 inches, which is what these describe in the listing. We were very disappointed to find that when we went to install these new ones, that the underside that fits into the hole in the floor (the frames are already hard installed and cannot be removed) measures 4.5" x 10 .75, and not 4" x 10" as stated in the product description, so none could be installed. Amazon took them back for a refund. Since others are stating that they fit their installations, we have to assume that everyone's 4" x 10" holes are not exact.
