It's been 5 years now and this laptop has lasted me longer than any I have ever owned. I travel a lot and this has taken a beating but keeps on going. Battery is showing signs of discharging quickly now but that's expected. It is not the fastest machine around but is sturdy as hell. Great product for a student or otherwise.

It seems like a very solid laptop, good battery life, screen looks good, hard drive/RAM are decent size, runs fast enough.BUT the sound keeps dying. After a few days, it just died. No sound at all. Went through all the windoze troubleshooting, no help. Lost it for a few days to mail back to lenovo support, they reimaged the OS, a few weeks later the sound went out. Sent it back again, they said they replaced the motherboard, before long, sound went out again. At this point I tried to claim a full refund, but they said 'it's not us, it's a software problem'. MS auto-update drivers conflicting with lenovo drivers.Somehow (lots of rebooting, sound troubleshooting etc) the sound came back. We turned on auto-restore points, and created a restore point (google it). A while later, sound went out, restored to restore point, sound back, ok, so that's our workaround. Turns out apparently, if you restore to a restore point, auto-restore points is not on anymore, and the restore point you did use is somehow gone (used up?) Anyways, sound went out again, we have no restore points.Now I'm stuck wasting Christmas vacation going through microsoft hell to try to reinstall windows 10. This sucks so hard. This computer is used for 3 things: browsing, writing word docs, and listening to music. Should not be this difficult.Other reviewers had this problem as well, not sure why it didn't happen to each and every single customer of this unit.Word to the wise: when things are sunny and happy, create a USB install for win10 so you can use it to reset/reinstall when necessary. Also, turn on auto restore points, and for good measure make a weekly calendar reminder to check restore point history and/or create a manual restore point (only a few button clicks).Better yet, switch to Ubuntu.

I have a workhorse Win7 desktop computer that I didn't want to risk bricking by upgrading to Win10. But I did want to experiment with Win10, and the Yoga is a great way to do it.Pro: Minimal bloatware included, adequate RAM and SSD, does tablet and laptop modes, fast enough for intended student use, value for money.Con: Heavy, won't be going on any out-of-town tripsBottom line: Don't confuse this with a premium or gaming laptop, but get it if you have kids who would use it (rugged), or you want to play with Win10 before spending serious money.

For the money ($280) this really is a five star. Overall I would have to say that this is a 4 star as far as satisfaction of usage is concerned. The display looks great despite only being 720p in resolution. This resolution is plenty for an 11 inch screen. Images are crisp. The keyboard is top notch. Typing on it is a very satisfying experience. I could type for a very long time on this machine. Feedback from the keys is great. Wi-Fi connectivity is pretty good. I am able to get good speeds from my home network. The three things I am using this for:1. Web browsing2. Streaming3. Microsoft office applications I am able to do all fairly effectively without many hiccups. The only irritation I noticed is lagging when trying to scroll with the touchpad on certain websites. Although, using the touchscreen (not touchpad) to scroll instead on these particular websites seems to work much better. The touchscreen is fairly responsive and is a nice experience in tablet mode. Don't expect this to be your IPad, however. For a 2 in 1, I cant imagine there being a better value at this price point. This machine handles exactly what I need it for.Another plus is a very easy upgrade from 4 gb RAM to 8 gb RAM. Very simple (took about 5 minutes) and ups the performance a little for another 50 dollars. Although, don't expect significant performance improvements by doing this. The main thing holding this machine back is the limited Celeron processor. However if you only intend to browse, stream, and use Microsoft office applications, you should be very pleased with the value you are getting in this machine. I also love the robustness of this laptop build. I never worry about having to be gentle with it, which is an advantage when you have toddlers climbing on you constantly. Overall, very happy with the purchase, although I had always planned on splurging for an i5 with an SSD. I'm glad I didn't.

Lenovo products are excellent, however I'm having some issues with this one in particular. The laptop mode is dreadfully slow, freezes when using simple email programs or social sites. Writing email there is a significant delay with the laptop 'catching up' with keystrokes. It is very annoying. I have compared using another machine to ensure it wasn't my bandwidth. It isn't. Using the touchscreen works slightly better but not as well as it should. The weight is heavier than I expected but I'll keep at it and hoping that it shows some improvements in speed and performance.
