This is a very interesting and fun material, also used in scientific research and LCD/OLED manufacture! One side of the plastic is coated in ITO, you can use the flat of a blade or similar to scrape away some of the film to create 'traces'. It may also be possible to use a laser cutter to pattern it. We're looking forward to seeing what people do with this cool stuff! It's not possible to solder to this material, but you can use conductive inks, paints, copper tape (with conductive adhesive) and alligator clips to make contact. We were on a trip and a guy I was with had all kinds of fogging problems. I started looking at his shield and the material. I only bought this to play with at home and so far have added copper tape with electrically conductive adhesive to the top and bottom. I soldered wires to them and applied 12VDC. Looking at it through a thermal camera, you can see it gets hot (you can feel it too). I only wish I knew about this stuff 10 years ago when my paintball mask was always fogging on me! desertcart's price is a rip off if you compare it to Adafruit's site but Adafruit was going to charge $9 to ship it. No matter what, I was going to pay $20 for this. Why do you need a thicker one? You can always add this ITO film on top of other non-conducting plastic sheets. **Q: Can this be used to create a membrane switch?** A: It has high conductivity, so it can be used to serve your purpose. However, it will depend on how you engage it. Also, note that though ITO coating itself is thin (i.e., few hundred nano-meters), the substrate (i.e., the plastic) is thick. **Q: how clear or distorted is the lens?** A: No distortion, but it does filter the light a little. **Q: what's the resistivity of it?** A: Our sheets measure 63 ohms/square, although we do not have a standard four point resistivity probe. We instead measured the resistance of a rectangular piece by using copper foil tape with conductive adhesive as bus bars along the edges of the known size.
