Have successfully used them for this year’s outdoor Halloween decorations that had multiple ethernet connections. I liked the size, and appearence too.

As one can expect, and per usual, based on price; Please bear in mind, these couplers are NOT IP68 rated, and do not achieve any aspect of the IP68 rating whatsoever. These couplers are NOT waterproof, not even remotely close. We have installed many dozens of these over the years, both original manufacturer and all of the rebrands one sees nowadays. We have found that they can be trusted to be functional, but to achieve actual resilience to water penetration we wrap them in silicone tape or mastic sealer along with a rated electrical tape. So they work for us, but not without modification or additional protection.

Although I am not a fan of splicing ethernet cables.....sometimes its inevitable. Running a new cable can be costly and time consuming. These weatherproof splice connectors come in handy in this situation. I have used these in a few different areas where either the cable run was too short or a cable was damaged. They protect the connection from weather and dust. I make sure my work van always has 1 or 2 of these on it in case of emergency. I am pretty sure they make these for 2 and 3 wire applications as well.

Nice tight connections, good seals, ethernet works fine. This could sit in a mud puddle and stay sealed. I was initially using it with flat cat7 cables, which still sealed okay but I was uncomfortable with it being out in the weather so switched to round cables. They are very tight which makes them a bit hard to work with, but I would rather have a good seal.

We have used these connectors may times (QTY: 60-80). While they are certainly not waterproof they do last longer than other options, namely the water resistant couplers from Platinum Tools. We ordered QTY:10 of these connectors in June of 2023 and not one connector worked. We know it was the connector because we ended up using a standard coupler which worked just fine.

Bought 5 of these and all of them failed within 2 weeks. Most of then took in water and one of the simply didn't work, it was missing one of the wire connections. Had to replace every single one. Cost me more time and money.

poor QA. bought 2 5 packs and only had 6 that had working connectors. Definitely were these devices as the cables worked fine when tested.
