Kid loves it

My toddler insists i read this to him at least once a day! He loves it so much he has worn out the flaps that the baby checks behind for the puppy! Im buying another one! Entertains him for hours! He loves to shake his head no and yes for the answers to the questions in the book!

I read a lot, both for professional work and for pleasure. While I appreciate the other reviews of this literary work, they don't really due justice to this very introspective work. The more I read and study this tombe, the less I know. Did we actually find baby's puppy? Was baby actually looking for baby's puppy or was she looking for herself? As I'm drawn further down the rabbit's hole, I'm beginning to question if baby's puppy ever existed or if it was just a fever dream. Moreover, who or what is baby's puppy? Are we all baby's puppy? I don't know. What does baby's puppy actually look like? If we were to see the true form of baby's puppy, could we even comprehend what we saw? Finally, I was disturbed that this child spent all of her time looking for the puppy yet never bothered to ask how is baby's puppy? Finally, I find it disturbing that this book propagates canine slavery and the manipulation/exploitation of canine DNA through domestication and selective breeding. Baby's puppy is dead. Long live baby's puppy

What is it about flaps that fascinate? My almost 3-year-old grandson adores this book and is reading it on his own. The colorful pictures are engaging and create practical context clues to help an early reader decode. The vocabulary is fun to say: "swishy goldfish," "furry squirrel." My 6-month old grandson squeals at the colorful images. Most of the sturdy flaps are about the size of a third of the page (or more), making them easy to grab. I have several Karen Katz flap books and none of the flaps has torn, something I assumed would happen when I purchased the first one several years ago. Put this on your book shelf and expect it to become a family favorite.

Cute book! My toddler loves the flaps ! The pictures are cute and full of vibrant color. Just hoping she doesn't expect the same amount of pets this kid has!

My one year old daughter loves babies and loves puppies, so this looked like the perfect book for her. It’s a very simple, flap book. My daughter is able to easily lift up the flaps and loves seeing what’s under each one, she gets super excited when we get to the puppy! SheUsually has me read this to her over and over several times.

Little ones love books that encourage interaction and that repeat phrases.

Ordered this book for my infant son to read before bed. The first book came damaged and Amazon rectified it right away.The second book came in perfect condition. It's perfect for us as we have two dogs who adore him. I just wish the character in the book was a boy but no big deal!Would definitely buy this book again!
