The rotary ones don't work and get gross from pizza grease. This one is VERY sharp, it's easy to wash but be careful washing it!! Kind of overkill for our little frozen pizzas for 2 but fun to use and works well! Works great when we order a par baked pizza to finish baking at home (large) - I imagine it's great for homemade pizza or focaccia, thicker flatbread or bigger pizzas for families, etc. it's big but skinny and the cover is easily taken off (watch out for kids!!) but doesn't come off in our drawer

I've used this cutter twice now - once to cut some fresh-out-of-the-oven shortbread, and once on a rising crust frozen pizza. It worked great for both. The blade is sharp enough that it sliced the shortbread cleanly, and heavy enough that it was easy to get that satisfying crunch of slicing all the way through the pizza dough. It's really good at doing what it's meant to do.Although the handle is clearly the heaviest part of the cutter, so I'm pretty sure it would fall handle-down if I dropped it, I intend to be respectful of its power. I'm inclined to wash & dry it right away, put its protective cover back on, and put it back into storage before enjoying my meal. I don't want to leave that blade sitting out getting crusty enough that scrubbing would be needed, and I don't want to leave it balanced on the drying rack as a potential accident waiting to happen. To be fair, that's generally how I treat my knives, but this one is bigger enough that it feels sensible to show a little more caution.I'm very pleased with this tool. It's so much easier to use than any other pizza cutter I've tried.

VERY SHARP! I REPEAT! VERY SHARP! After a number of times in use, I accidentally almost slice the tip of my left ring finger off. That aside, I wish I had bought ones like this sooner because been easier for my hands to cut and I have tendinitis in both my hands and shoulder. When you rock it when it cutting, the blade works so easily for pizza and other breads. Would readily recommend and the price wasn’t too bad either.Also you can technically throw this I. The dishwasher but a lot easier to clean by hand. Just watch your fingers! Haha

Years ago, when I was a Comestible Dispersion Specialist (pizza delivery driver), the cook in the establishment used a long pizza cutter like this one.One day I asked, "Why not use a roller blade, like everyone else?" He said, "This is faster & easier". By the way, he had been working in pizza parlors for many, many years. OK. Filed that away for future reference.(Pizza PARLOR/Burger JOINT - is there some message there?)Now, twenty-some years later, I've finally gotten around to testing that hypothesis. I've been using a hefty roller with a fairly sharp edge on a clear plastic wheel. It has worked fine for years. Easy to use, easy to clean. However, the continuing problem with any roller wheel is that it makes a sloppy cut thru the toppings. Carefully placed olives, mushrooms, pepperoni, etc. get moved around. The cheese gets mushed and sometimes spaces open up.The mezzaluna (half-moon), a type of knife, was created by Italian Silvio Pacitti in 1708 because he was looking for a different way of cutting vegetables. The mezzaluna is still used as a pizza cutter today, particularly for Chicago style pizzas. One reason this rocker-style cutter is used in parlors and restaurants is that it cuts neatly, without unduly disturbing the toppings.This knife is stainless steel. I got the black version, which has a non-stick coating. It is magnetic, so it's definitely a steel alloy of some type.One of the answers to a customer question (here on Amazon) says that it is 18/0 stainless (18/0 means 18% chromium/0% nickel). No nickel in the alloy is less expensive to produce, but it also means low protection against stains.18/8 or 18/10 is preferred in professional environments, but implements made of 18/0 steel are OK. They provide good quality for the price and are reasonably durable. Just be sure to rinse clean this knife soon after use and dry it thoroughly.I like this utensil. It's stiff, sharp and comfortable to use. I keep the cutting edge covered with the plastic guard it came with and I use the hole to hang it out of the way.

Fantastic cutter. I love the Rocking motion and how big it is. It's easy to handle, has a nice grip to it and cut pizza with ease in one swoop. The bottom is sharp enough to cut the pizza easily, but not sharp to the touch so there's no worry about cutting your finger on a sharp blade or anything like that

Got this for my husband and the first time he used it he was almost giddy! Cut the pizza with ease and easy to clean. He made a second pizza just so he could cut it!

I didn’t expect this to be so sharp but it is. I only use for cutting pizza but I suppose onions, celery, and cabbage it could handle as well. It cleans easy and is a very simple design. The cover fits tight for storage. So far so good.

My rolling wheel pizza cutter finally broke and I wanted to try this style instead. Well, I wasn't disappointed! Cuts easily through the hardest pizza crust in one rocking movement.It is also dishwasher safe and easy to resharpened as needed.Light and durable with a good grip, no complaints on my part. Just buy the 16in model for 12 in pizza, the bigger the easier it cuts!
