Perfect match to my ARB fridge
I didn't want the complete ARB socket setup with a million feet of wire, just needed the outlet. I already have a battery box in the back of my Jeep to power things while camping. It has a 12-volt socket but the supplied wire is as inadequate as the Jeep's rear outlet wiring. Let me elaborate... The ARB fridge will run just fine on the rear outlet when the Jeep is running but when it is turned off, the rear socket drops to 11.6 volts. The trick is you need to set the ARB to the LOW setting for power cutoff. If not, the fridge will appear to be on (you can see the temp displayed) but the compressor isn't going to be running as the voltage is below the 11.8 or 11.4 level of HIGH and MED. So, when driving the Jeep for 4 hours to get to camp the fridge is just fine. Shut the Jeep off and the voltage at the rear drops below the acceptable level and the compressor shuts down. It would be a bad idea to set the fridge cutoff to LOW as you might not be able to start the vehicle. So, I have a battery box. I had previously installed a switch panel with USB outlets, battery meter, and 12-volt socket. Comes with a handy switch too. I did use the fridge in the 12-volt socket and while the batteries where at 12.7 before the compressor kicked it the voltage dropped to 11.7 The wire is really thin. I plugged the fridge into the ARB socket and the fridge monitor app showed 12.7. Compressor turned on and it dropped to 12.4. After a bit it dropped to 12.2 and hung there. I used thicker wire and as short of leads as possible with the ARB socket. Added 15 amp fuse in-line too. Although the voltage dropped to 12.2 while the compressor was running, I know from previous playing with the fridge that it will be fine for 48+ hours before I need to recharge the two class-31 deep-cycle batteries. I could have replaced the wires on the switched panel with the same gauge I used for the fridge but I wanted it to have it's own path to the batteries. An added bonus is the fridge plug screws into the ARB outlet so it can't come lose while driving. I don't trust standard 12-volt outlets to not vibrate lose.

SOLID CONNECTION
Purchased to use with a Dometic CFX fridge/freezer. Stock 12V outlet was not secure enough and would disconnect during travel. This unit is a 12V 2 prong connection that screws in and is secure. Works perfectly with the 12V DC cable that came with the Dometic. Just unscrew the 12V plug from the connector on the Dometic cable and you have the 2 prong connection ready to go.

This makes for a much improved and reliable power feed for my ARB Fridge/Freezer. I had trouble with the 12v cigarette-style plug working itself loose and cutting power to the fridge when driving. This makes for a very secure, threaded, reliable connection.

Nice mount, but ARB specific.
Great product, but socket is specific to ARB fridges. This is not a standard 12v outlet. But you can swap out the outlet part. The housing is realy nice and probably worth the money alone. It makes for a nice clean water resistant mount in the bed of your truck.

These are awesome but...
Buy this! But don't use the wimpy ARB cord. Instead, search for a fridge cord with 12ga or at least 14ga wire. When you get that cord, go to Eb*y and get this "Fridge Socket + Engel Plug for Camper Caravan Trailer Boat Car 4x4 Accessories", remove the other cig plug and wire this one on. It screws right into the ARB socket and has been working awesome for me and my Iceco fridge/freezer.
