This is sort of an embarrassing question but.. would these plastic bed bug traps withstand very rough "bedtime activities"?

Am I the only one who thinks having rough “bedtime activities “ ( which doesn’t involve wearing clothes) on a BIG BUG INFESTED BED...probably isn’t very smart ? These bugs love to play “hide and seek” in (ah-hemm- cough-cough) DARK CREVICES and live off of biting humans and drinking their blood. Nothing screaming “sexy” about that...yet these people want to know if these traps are sturdy enough to withstand that kind of thing? 🤦‍♀️ Although said traps may withstand that type of activity ...please think more of your bodies vs the traps breaking. Maybe re-analyze this situation?!?

These used to come with tape around the outside to let bugs crawl up. Now have ridges. Do ridges work as well?

Accepted Answer

Ridges are better, as roaches are attracted to the smell of adhesive and glues.  While fighting bedbugs you do not want roaches gathering saying "Glue? i smell glue! Yum!"
 The bedbugs sure can climb up rough surfaces, even painted walls.  Ya reallly do not want any glue or adhesive near a bed... nope.  Tape is not needed.

Question 4

Would it be ok to re-powder the device with any baby powder (since nowadays most baby powders contain cornstarch rather than talcum powder)?

TAKE CARE that you do not remove the slick surface of the inner walls on that inner ring with powders.   Bedbugs can not climb up slick surfaces, they need a little roughness (as in a painted wall) to climp up.  If you powder up the slick inner ring?  the bugs might be able to climp up... yikes.
