BOSS Audio Systems LPCB36 Rearview License Plate Backup Car Camera

I purchased the back up cam because of the 3 year warranty. I paired it with a Dual 7 inch double din and it works great. You can easily see at night without any issues. It makes parking my 2003 Ford F150 Supercrew so much easier. You do have to adjust it a little lower and try to capute a part of your bumper so you can gauge depth, otherwise, you think you parked close only to realize there is plenty of room.

Great to hookup with a Boss receiver! Clear picture and decent adjustability! Loses a star for installation. I'm not sure why they changed it, but they used to have you split off the reverse light for activation of the camera, the instructions wanted me to use a reverse wire from the harness to do this now. I could not figure out which wire in my harness was for reverse and didn't feel like using a multimeter for 2 hours figuring it out.The easiest solution: Just split a wire that can handle the 12v power off of the reverse light, and run that alongside the camera signal wire. Worked immediately after that.

The steel mount clinched it for me. I have not checked out the video quality, due to moving the left and right mounts to replace a broken plastic set of mounts. Those were destroyed in a few short years by the Sun !!!! These mounts are rock solid !!! They work well and I had to slightly file some edges to allow my camera to swivel a bit more. Buy !!

Easy to install, but the picture is very stretched. It also distorts when I back up at night. My backup lights show up too bright for it and they make it unusable. Wish the picture wasn't so wide.Update: I have added pictures to show the stretches in the frame. I've also developing lines in the video the camera couldn't really pick up in the photo. The first photo is a brightly lit-up parking lot and the second is a pitch-black driveway. I wouldn't rely on this camera for safely backing up at all. I also started getting errors and it randomly disconnecting. After checking the connections, I just replaced the camera to get rid of the issue and it has worked ever since. The picture is also 100 times better and I can use it at night. It also shows up in color when in parking lots unlike the black and white this did. I did wipe it off before the pictures and don't know why there is an orb on top of the picture as the camera is clean. In my opinion, there are much better cameras on the market.Update 2-Tried cleaning it and it looks like the inside of the lens is dirty and cannot be cleaned. The camera is now unusable.Final update-Completely lost the picture and ended up with a yellow blur with red streaks. yanked the camera out and replaced it. 2 cameras and I gave up. The camera gets water inside the lens and just goes bad. Horrible design.

Not too bad for BOSS audio, they make good radios and amps, so I didn't see why not buy their backup cam at only $15. When installed it was pretty good, but you have to run another length of wire along with the RCA so the camera can get power from accessory. It's different for every car, but or my 2008 Toyota Corolla, it was easy. No drilling needed, route the data & power line through the license plate light cavity. Not too bad for the value, although next time I'd rather go with the wireless camera option than the wired camera option. You're gonna need a lot of electrical tape if you're going to install this yourself

Great price & product but sent wrong cables in the box. Returning & hopefully getting the right cables. Other wise good product

Easy install since I already had wiring. Clear picture. Don’t like how it blocks the “state” on top of my license plate. Will probably eventually change out because of that.But I needed something for a quick fix in a pinch since the body shop didn’t reinstall my precious camera. Truck is out of state, due to scum bag thieves trying to steal it while on vacation. Lack of tools on hand made this is an easy choice for a quick possible temporary fix.

Have had this installed on the back of my old F150 for years. Works well with my cheap aftermarket stereo. Starting to rust, I think, but the picture quality is still great. A good value.

Installed on my 2011 Chev Malibu with Boss audio system. Works perfect, great viewing range, and crystal clear. Definitely recommend you buy this!
