Lights up the whole room - Fenix FTW once again!
I've had my share of Fenix flashlights and headlamps, so going with their lantern was a no-brainer. Primarily bought it for when the power goes out, but we also go camping and plan on bringing it then too. About a week after receiving it, our power DID go out for 12 hours. This thing is a tiny BEAST - a little bigger than a softball but it lights up the whole basement as if it's daytime. The range from lowest to brightest is amazing and incredibly useful. The USB charger is also convenient if you need to charge your phone. We didn't come close to burning the battery down, so I can't attest to the battery life, but as long as you don't have it on the brightest setting all the time, it should last you. Great job once again Fenix!

I like the Fenix line of products, very reliable.
I like the Fenix line of flashlights, I have several and they have all been very reliable and rugged. It’s a very bright lantern, you won’t be disappointed. The batteries that come with, are not top of the line, but are sufficient for light to medium use. If you need longer lasting power look at 3400-amp hour batteries from Nitecore, they are very reliable. I also use the Digi D4 charger from Nitecore.

Make sure top is tightened all the way
Bought two lanterns and when I charged them they did not work. I checked the batteries, recharged them and still did not work. When I was charging them the battery light indicator did light up but when stop charging the lanterns did not turn on. Felt bad because they were pricey. Come to find out the problem was not with the lanterns, the problem was that I did not tighten the top all the way.The lanterns are great, love them and so happy with my purchase. Definitely would recommend them!

Not Bright and Must Pay Return Shipping
The lantern glows nicely but does not project much light. It might be good for hanging inside of small tent, but it does not light up much of an area outside. Also, the buyer must pay for return shipping. The web page should be clear about that. It's misleading.

Best 18650 based lantern/battery bank
This is by far one of the best lanterns on the market if your battery situation is based around 18650 batteries. Since 21700 batteries have started taking the flashlight scene over in recent years new products for 18650s are not really being developed. The light itself is great. It is durable and build quality is good. The lights' button functionality is simple and easy to use. 650 lumens on high makes indirect and direct light possible and nicer on the eyes. The lowest setting is also great for a tent or cabin area at night as a very dim but perfect for a night-time light for getting ready to sleep.Battery life depends on the cells you use. I use some older NCR18650B flat tops. This light gets 4 starts because flat tops are UNRELIABLE in this light. Use of a small magnet to act as a "button" solves this. I have also tried NCR18650GA, NCR18650A and Sony VTC5A cells with the same result.

By far, the best lantern I've ever owned!
AWESOME lantern. Too big and heavy for lightweight backpacking, but boy is it great for car camping! Puts out a ton of light and the build quality is simply amazing. By far, the best lantern I've ever owned!

Best lantern I've owned.
Wonderful lantern. The runtimes advertised wont be realized with the supplied 2600 mAh Li-Ion 18650 cells. I used 3500 mAh cells I had lying around and it ran as advertised on the 5 brightness settings. I plan to get a couple more of these. Light output is constant as batteries diminished (as tested with light meter), until power too low to maintain, then it drops to next lowest intensity. Dont let the small size fool you. This is the ultimate lantetern, although pricey.
