1998 F150 (does not include lock washers)
These things came with a ton of extra stuff for connecting to many types of vehicles. The installation for mine was pretty straight forward I did not need anything other than a couple bolts and screws. The spacing/or distance apart for making the holes was straight forward also. The issue that I had was lining the hole up from the edge of the lip. I found that I had to expand the initial hole a bit on each because of the difficulty of the line up and the tightness of the location for placement. I also had to go buy myself some lock washers because none are included. Overall this was a very easy install and they are very sturdy, I come in at a couple pounds under 200 and these things hold just fine. Worth the money and the small amount of hassle with installation. I needed a drill with the proper bits and a Philips screwdriver or drill bit and a socket set. Additionally I needed a Dremel to expand the holes in the truck to line up properly but if need be you could use a hand file.

Awesome product
Very sturdy and it comes with all the hardware you would need regardless of truck type. I have 2009 F150 and had to drill new holes for installation. It was a pain and took about 2.5 hours due to poor drill bits and what felt like iron pockets in the steel. In the end, they are worth it because my daughter and short family members can now comfortably get in and out. As a bonus they look good too. When I decide to replace my torn drivers seat these will definitely help prevent me from tearing up the new one. Worth it! But definitely have good drill bits on hand and measure twice. (I used a dremel with diamond burr to elongate the holes because they were slightly off, worked great). Hole pattern 9/16 from edge and 8 & 3/16 center to center on the holes.

Quality Steps, Garbage Hardware
First the good. The steps are very well made and were not difficult to install. The steps are well worth the cost paid. Now the bad. As other reviewers have noted, the included hardware is worthless garbage. The first bolt sheared in half with a small amount of force with a socket wrench. The first phillips head metal screw's head was stripped upon attempted tightening. I immediately switched to better hardware that I was lucky enough to have at the house. My recommendations for others during install. Only tighten bolts to a snug fit. The smallest bit of torque will break them in half. If your application calls for the phillips head metal screws, make your pilot hole one size bigger so that you won't strip the head, or better yet, use a bolt head screw. I would have given 5 stars if not for the hardware.

Getting Harder to Get in Your Truck?? Get This!
I needed a "step up" on my 4WD F150 and took a chance on this product. What a life saver! The older I am getting the more I needed this product. It's a simple single step that doesn't detract from the appearance of my truck. It works great!@

Poor Finish Quality
These showed up. That's the best I can say about them. The "Powder Coating" was chipped or flaking off in no less than 20 different places straight out of the box. No way am I installing such trash on my truck. Maybe if you get them without the powder coat they would be okay, but something tells me it's just a low quality brand.

Badly designed doomed for failure if installed according to instructions.
OK on my Ford 2012 F350 there is a single metal flange attached to the bottom of the truck. Maybe 3/16th thick. Not too sturdy in other words. This step is supposed to bolt into that flange. I did not see that working well, or for long. So I cut a piece of 1/4 in thick aluminum 2 inch L stock a couple inches longer than the top of the step. I then drilled this with 4 holes, 2 over 2, into the step as well and attached that with the L upside down so the horizontal flange ran under the truck frame. I attached step and flange with the provided bolts. Which BTW are too big to fit in the holes in the step. So I had to drill out the holes. I did not have any lock nuts handy but I added lock washers to the attachment. I'll get some lock nuts soon and replace the standard nuts. Stepping on the step forces the L flange into the bottom of the truck taking the load off the flimsy flange on the truck. Hopefully this will hold up. The steps themselves seem to be sturdy and that's the only reason they got 3 stars.

A solid step and straightforward installation
Purchased this 12-28-13 based on other user reviews. Got it in 2 days. Installed in about 30 minutes for the pair. Super easy installation. This SHOULD come with all of the brackets and hardware that are necessary for installation (mine did). Depending on the lip of the rocker panel, you may or may not need the extra brackets for installation. I didn't require any additional brackets for mine. I did have to drill one extra hole for mounting (but it was easy because of the aluminum construction). The only reason you should need to drill any additional holes is if there's a hole in the frame behind an existing mounting hole on the bracket and it's too large for the screw (if that makes sense). I had to relocate where the top screw mounted because of this, but it was no big deal. LOOKS SOLID AND FEELS SOLID, lowers the step in height of my truck by 8 or so inches which is a big deal on my rig. I'm going to buy another set and mount them for the rear doors next. No problems here!

Inexpensive and effective
These installed on my 2011 F-250 (Style “A” in the instructions). The powder coat was not perfect, however you have to keep in mind that these are very inexpensive, much more cost effective than running boards. I bought my truck used to save money, while I do not want to buy junk, the most expensive parts would be counter effective for me. If you have a new or very nice truck I would recommend buying something higher quality. Many people complained about the hardware being cheap, I used quarter 20 hardened stainless bolts and serrated washers for the bottom hole. Yes they are smaller than what was provided but they came from an elevator parts kit, very high quality fastenders. In order to keep the sheet metal screws from stripping out as many have also reported, it is very important to USE NUMBER 3 PHILLIPS and an IMPACT DRIVER- this will keep the bit from stripping out the head. Also drill a pilot hole for the screws.

Einfach.....
Die steps hatte ich in 30 min angebracht. Die Installation ist mehr als einfach. Beim Chevy Blazer K5 Bj.78 überhaupt kein Problem. Ohne irgendwelche Adapter oder Passhülsen zu verwenden. 8 Löcher bohren , anschrauben - fertig. Hält bombenfest.

Side step
Nice product. Going in is easy and these work well but coming out you must be able to judge where step is and place foot in.which at my wife's and my age is rather difficult for her. So if your older don't get these go with long side step. If your younger you will love these steps Cause I do
