I ordered the June Gold 0.9mm 4B lead refills to pair with my Pentel GraphGear 1000 mechanical pencil, to use for the illustration class I’m taking. I have no complaints so far. The lead is durable, it has a nice, creamy-smooth lay down of pigment and it works perfectly for shading. You don’t have to apply much pressure to get a nice, rich, dark lay-down. You can achieve a wide variety of shades by varying application pressure. Definitely capable of laying down some dark, crisp lines as well, even in the large 0.9mm diameter. It smudges fairly easily, but that is to be expected with any soft graphite. It’s also very easy to remove pieces of lead from the container, contrary to what some reviews here say. I will be purchasing more from this brand in the 0.3mm, 0.5mm and 0.7mm sizes to pair with my other 3 GraphGear pencils. Review: Dark and not soft - I am very happy this purchas. I didn't buy these to draw or sketch. I write with them, so I cannot comment on the quality from an artists post. I like using pencils and fine point is my favorite. These 4;B are dark and non have broken with me yet(its very new less than a week and little use thus far). I bought 2B and they were softer than this so I am happy. I have Pilot leads and I would compare these to those ans say they are about the same. I will update if any difference is noticed. ## Features - INCLUDED: 640 graphite lead refills that have a 0.5 mm diameter, 4B hardness, and 60 mm in length (2.36 in). - STORAGE: 4 dispensers are included with 160 refills in each dispenser. - QUALITY: Our leads are formulated to write uniformly and smoothly for all day writing and breakage resistance. - DISPENSER: Each dispenser was designed with consideration for convenience and simplicity resulting in exacting and effortless dispensing. - COMPATIBILITY: Our lead works with any brand of 0.5 mm mechanical pencils and especially our June Gold mechanical pencils. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B08SZ26F2Q | | Additional Features | Break Resistant | | Age Range (Description) | Adult | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | #215 in Office Products ( See Top 100 in Office Products ) #2 in Mechanical Pencil Refills | | Body Shape | Round | | Brand | June Gold | | Brand Name | June Gold | | Color | 4b Graphite | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 1,513 Reviews | | Drill Point | Super Fine | | Hand Orientation | Ambidextrous | | Hardness | 4B | | Ink Base | Pigment | | Ink Color | Black | | Item Diameter | 0.5 millimeters | | Item Dimensions | 2.36 x 0.02 x 0.02 inches | | Item Type Name | Lead Refill | | Item Weight | 22.68 g | | Line Size | 0.5 millimeters | | Manufacturer | June Gold | | Material | Graphite | | Material Type | Graphite | | Model Name | 10094 | | Model Number | 10094 | | Recommended Uses For Product | Drawing, Sketching, Writing | | Style | 0.5 mm | | Unit Count | 640 Count | | Writing Instrument Form | Graphite Pencil | | Writing Technique | pencil lead | ## Product Details - **Age Range (Description):** Adult - **Brand:** June Gold - **Color:** 4b Graphite - **Ink Color:** Black - **Writing Instrument Form:** Graphite Pencil ## Images ![June Gold 0.5 mm, 640 Lead Refills, 4B, 4 Dispensers/w 160 Pieces Each - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81Rnh6T1FoL.jpg) ![June Gold 0.5 mm, 640 Lead Refills, 4B, 4 Dispensers/w 160 Pieces Each - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71W25T4rPlL.jpg) ![June Gold 0.5 mm, 640 Lead Refills, 4B, 4 Dispensers/w 160 Pieces Each - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/819+pB8+XxS.jpg) ![June Gold 0.5 mm, 640 Lead Refills, 4B, 4 Dispensers/w 160 Pieces Each - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/21uzmw-PRoL.jpg) ![June Gold 0.5 mm, 640 Lead Refills, 4B, 4 Dispensers/w 160 Pieces Each - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81ogtRO6zIL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Style** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect Lead for Graphite Illustration *by N***T on October 31, 2025* Great lead so far. We use pencils a lot for note taking, writing drafts, puzzles and the like, but the typical 2B leads that come with them are too hard, and not dark enough to easily see what you've written. These are absolutely excellent -- and so inexpensive that I've thrown away all the 2B leads in the mechanical pencils we own, and replaced it with the June Gold. ## Frequently Bought Together - June Gold 640 Pieces, 0.5 mm 4B Lead Refills, 160 Pieces Per Dispenser, Fine Thickness, Break Resistant Lead/Graphite (Pack of 4 Dispensers) - Bild Premium Mechanical Pencil Lead Refills (HB, 1.3 mm) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sk/products/375960446-june-gold-0-5-mm-640-lead-refills-4b-4](https://www.desertcart.sk/products/375960446-june-gold-0-5-mm-640-lead-refills-4b-4) --- *Product available on Desertcart Slovakia* *Store origin: SK* *Last updated: 2026-10-07*
