There is no rice cooker in the market that can cook rice like raice cookers made by Zojirushi. You'll always get your rice cooked perfuctly, as if it was cooked by a professional Chef. Yet it is easy to use and clean.Just few things to mention:* Read and follow the instruction in the manual.* Avoid metal utenels inside the cooker, in order to mentain the non-stick surface.* Do not use abrasive cleaning tools or harsh chemicals. (hand wash is recommended with warm soapy water)

This little Zojirushi (meaning little elephant) is truly mighty! Do not let the price tag put you off this little marvel, if you are a fairly regular rice eater, then it is worth every penny. I am by nature a good cook, but I am absolutely shocking at cooking rice, by that I mean I can cook it, but not by any degree of consistency. This machine has programmes for sushi rice, sticky white rice, brown rice, rice porridge, long grain rice, you can also cook mixed rice, and more, I can honestly say it cooks perfectly...every..single..time. When rice is complete it will keep warm for hours and hours and hours without drying out or overcooking, It also has a reheat mode. It is a little pot of magic, small in size but extremely robust and very well made. Cooks up to 3 cups (the little cup that comes with it, approx 160ml, not a usa cup measurement) of raw rice, which when cooked is plenty of rice for 3 to 4 very hungry adults, 5 to 6 with a regular appetite, and probably 8 children, if you have a larger family i believe they have a larger model. It also gives you the option of cooking 1 or 2 cups too. The cooking pot itself is extremely thick (approx 4mm) and heavy duty non stick. The whole unit is extremely easy to clean, so avoiding bacteria. I cannot say enough good things, I love it and I would certainly recommend.

Another reviewer has raised the question as to the authenticity of this rice cooker but they haven't looked into this properly:It is made in a dedicated *Zojirushi factory* in China. It is £100 cheaper than the same model built in Japan. It's not a fake, just made in a Chinese factory. Do you think they would be allowed to sell fake products on Amazon? As stated by the seller: " Zojirushi manufacturing standards are extremely high and the factories have a reputation of excellence with build quality and detailed quality control, however, if you are specifically looking for a model that is made in Japan you can take a look at the NS-YSQ10. The NS-YSQ10 is also a larger capacity rice cooker than the NL-BGQ05".This high quality rice cooker is very easy to use, just switch it on, add water and it does everything for you. It keeps the rice warm when it's ready. The rice is perfect every time, soft, light and fluffy with no sogginess or overcooked/burned parts. The machine is heavy and feels well built, it looks better than it does in all the photos. It is really simple and quick to clean - takes less than a minute. Although it is recommended suitable for cooking rice for 1-3 people, we have found that one cup is perfect for my partner and I (we don't need huge portions). This machine is three cups. Unless you need an extra large portion of rice I would say this machine can make rice for 1 - 4 people. (or 5 smaller portions). I use it approx 3 times a week. I'll update this review if I run into any problems.
