Cheaper Than Driving to the Xfinity Store!
Do you have one of those old DVRs from Xfinity that they keep bugging you to exchange for the voice recording cable box, and your remote buttons are failing? If so, this might be the answer to your troubles, and you won't be forced to upgrade to the newer box (which streams content over the internet, rather than recording locally) or lose hours of programs you've recorded, including Pay-Per-View events. I ordered, and received, two mint-condition X2 remotes; also enclosed were two fresh Duracell AA batteries for each remote (a pleasant surprise, since it was not mentioned in the listing). Each remote came with printed instructions to program TV and sound bar controls, which is handy because the original instructions are often lost. The instructions for my original remotes (from 2011 - I managed to NOT lose the instructions somehow) didn't even list codes for sound bars, so I can verify the enclosed directions are updated. Neither remote worked out of the package (the red LED lit up with button presses, but no response from the DVRs), but I discovered the "secret trick." The remotes I received were configured for RF (radio frequency) output to use on newer cable boxes, which Xfinity calls "Aim Anywhere," instead of IR (infrared) used for older models. I have older Cisco HD DVRs, so if this is what you have, here is the easy method for programming: 1. Press and hold the "Setup" button (smaller button at the very bottom left of the remote) until the red light turns green. 2. Press the "A" key above the numeric keys. (Green light will flash three times.) 3. Remote is now ready for use. You may continue and program TV controls into the X2 remote if you wish. Once I discovered this tip, programming was a breeze, and I had both remotes configured properly and programmed for their individual TVs in minutes. All of the buttons on both remotes work on the first press, which is a massive improvement over what we've been dealing with for months. I considered getting a generic universal remote, but at this price, why not stick with the originals? It cost me less for two remotes than it would cost to get in the car, drive half an hour to the Xfinity store, sit in their empty concierge area while the reps surf the internet for another 15-20 minutes until they fell like calling my name, exchange remotes, and drive another half hour home - and all without having to deal with traffic, or high-pressure sales tactics as they try to get me to add Mobile and Home phone plans. What about the two old malfunctioning remotes I have? Don't worry, I've got plans for them, I'll refurbish them myself and keep them on-hand for the future. (That reminds me, I need to go search for a decent ultrasonic cleaner.)

Exactly like the ones given by Xfinity.

Perfect replacement for a broke remote
What can I say? Works exactly like the original remote before it stopped working. It came with an instruction pamphlet explaining the setup. I entered a 5-digit number from the pamphlet that denoted my TV brand and everything worked perfectly again.

One worked other had to be reset.
Had to reset one now works fine. Press setup until all-power turns green then press numbers 9-8-1 to reset. Now works fine.

OK but not the same model as pictured.
The remote works fine but I was looking to replace my exact model as I was used to where the buttons are and could control the TV/xfinity without looking. The picture on the website was not the same as what was sent. A few of the buttons were in a different place and it does not have the 8 seconds back button which I love. Anyway, it is a fine remote but it will be different than pictured on website.
