Very expensive for the quality, but you could do worse for an aspiring young Darth Vader
I should probably start my review with my first experience of using this product, which was for the back of it to tear as I helped my daughter put it on. I believe other reviewers have commented on this, and to be honest, I just wrote those complaints off as being one-off quality issues that were unlikely to happen to me, but here I am, now thinking that this is a design flaw or production fault that will likely affect everyone. The issue itself would seem to be an unfinished seam and easily fixable with a bit of needle and thread, but considering the price tag and the Rubie's seal of quality, you really shouldn't be expected to repair this product upon receipt.Moving onto the rest of the product, and it's actually not too bad. It feels a bit cheap - in fact, it IS a bit cheap in terms of the quality of the material used - and the hook-and-loop fasteners are pretty weak, leading to your mini Lord of the Sith approaching you every five or ten minutes to refasten their cape. I wouldn't normally have a problem with low quality materials and production if that's what I'd paid for, but this is a Rubie's product, and it comes with a premium price tag.Overall, this Darth Vader outfit is okay and my daughter certainly has a lot of fun wearing it. It's just a shame it doesn't come with gloves, but then Rubie's wouldn't be able to charge you double for the added accessory and I'm lucky in that my daughter's content to use my black leather gloves instead (and I recommend purchasing some cheap and cheerful black leather or faux leather gloves as a cost-effective alternative). The only way that this product lets itself down is its price, which is far in excess of its apparent build quality, but then I guess you can't put a price on your son or daughter dressing up as Darth Vader. In conclusion, you could do a lot worse than this costume, but be aware that you are being fleeced just a little bit for the Rubie's label and it being a Star Wars product. Also, be sure to shop around, as I've noticed that the price varies a lot between sellers and across different selling platforms.Edit: A few weeks on and I've learned that the silver bits of the mask are actually just stickers that lose their 'stick' and peel off, and the inside of the mask needs padding to prevent it from scratching my daughter's forehead, so I've docked my overall rating of this product by one star, down from two - it really isn't worth the asking price.

“(They’re) altering the deal. Pray (They) don’t alter it any further.”
My seven year old son loves Star Wars, and he already had the Rubie’s Batman Costume, but the Darth Vader set didn’t come up to standard, particularly for the price:The mask is cheap; despite the image on the advert showing blacked-out eyes, in fact there are just two holes, and despite previous reviews stating it covers the whole head, it does not, merely the face with the rear and neck exposed. The jump suit is incomplete; despite the image on the advert showing hands covered / gloved, they are not.The lightsaber is non-existent - I’m aware the packaging states that this is sold separately, but come on; what is Vader without wielding his weapon. In summary - the advert is not accurate to the product on more than one count, and this suit could’ve been so much better for the price paid ... shop around for any budding Sith Lords.

Does what it says on the tin
So my 5 year old LOVES Darth Vader, so obviously this was what she was getting for Christmas. I think there has been maybe 3 days in that time (1 month ago) that she has not worn it or started singing Darth V's theme.Have been wary about getting a lightsaber as I still want windows and lightbulbs and her older sister not to be screaming as the dark side reigns with supremacy. If you child likes Star Wars, they will like this, little cheap in the making, but its fancy dress and still holding up after a month and makes her happy.

Fun, but stingy deal
Decent kids costume (not great, just decent). Felt it odd that so much was missing from the kit.Should really include gloves and a lightsaber, even if they need to charge a bit more.Seller is clear what is included in their description, but still seems an incomplete product.

Gloves are sold separately just about doubling the price. No mention in advert gloves not included.
This doesnt come with ghe gloves. I read the light saber is sold seperately on the ad but no mention of the gloves so presumed they came with it. Just had to pay out ÂŁ15 just for the gloves. Works out quite pricey to buy separately.
