## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this wood treated with chemicals or is it stabilized?  And if stabilized, is it done under vacuum, and what kind of epoxy is used?**
A: Neither. This wood is so dense and oily, I doubt vacuum stabilizing with resin will have an impact.  I noted no chemical treatment.  I use considerable desert ironwood.  I bought it here because it was advertised as burl.  Mine was definitely not.

As other reviews have said, don't expect burl. Still for the price this is a beautiful (and hefty) piece of wood. Started working it tonight, at only 150 grit this block is very smooth and has a waxy feel to it. It's almost like satin, can't wait to get to higher grits.
