The adjusted length can be used for any sort of snorkeling. However the longer you extend the FLOW out of the water the more buoyancy it has. If you want to extend the flow underwater it becomes much more buoyant neutral with a tendency to float towards the surface. Either way this should not interfere with your snorkeling/ scuba diving! **Q: ΒΏCan I use the remote control under water as long as the remote control is stored in a waterproof case?** A: This question is unrelated to our product but Will try to assist. It appears that no GoPro remote will work underwater as it uses a wireless network which currently is not possible underwater. Hope This helps! **Q: Do have a carrying case for the flow float + extend pole? or is there a 3rd party that may sell one?** A: Unfortunately, we do not make a carrying case for the FLOW. It worked perfectly, let me get into the water with it compacted and then stretch it out underwater for better access. No issues at all and it let me get that extra close perspective that isn’t possible with shorter go pro sticks. They were able to send me a new one which I was really appreciative of their concern. We took it to a pool party and it worked great. I was surprised that even with it extended it floated. I think my 2 issues I really had was when collapsed it floated but it wasn't that high above the water and visibility was tough with a white handle. Luckily we were in a pool but if I were to loose it in any type of wave I don't think I'd be able to retrieve it. My other issue was when the pole is extended it takes on a lot of water but it actually floats higher than when colapsed. We will definitely use it but like I mentioned before I just wish the handle had a little more buoyancy and was a brighter color for visibility. Kudos to the customer service!I really wish I could review this item. We ordered this for our trip and unfortunately the package never made it to our house.
