How can the shipping weight be only 9 lbs for a case of 12 when the description claims there is 2-3 lbs of bacon in each can. Anyone? Thank you!..

Because the bacon is cooked before it is put in the can. The weight of the bacon is before cooking.

"Between 2-3/4 and 3-1/4 pounds of raw bacon go into each can." How can that be if they "cook this bacon down for you prior to canning"?

They put the equivalent of 2 3/4- 3 1/4 lbs of UNCOOKED bacon in each can. If you've ever cooked bacon you know that most of the weight is water and fat which cooks out. If you took a pound of bacon and cooked it you'd have about 4 oz. left of usable meat. That's how they arrive at their figures.

I see in the picture that there is a P 38 next to the can. Is that included?

Not as far as I know. BUT anybody who does NOT have a P38 already in hand is a fool.

How long is canned meats good once customer receives the cans

YMMV, last year I ate SPAM from 1998 and it was still tasty.
