What size is a medium vs a large

I bought a medium for my petite 8yo daughter. It was HUGE on her. I'm guessing it might fit when she is 10 or 11. I can only assume that the large is even larger.

What size should I get for my daughter she is 5” and 115lb

XXL. My daughter is 4'10" and 88lbs, and the XL fits perfectly. However, you might want to consider buying ladies' sizes.
