Perfect for a playhouse!
Okay, I have to be honest… I almost didn’t buy this bell after reading the other reviews. But, I’m glad that I did. I knocked a star off because the nautical rope is pretty small (think oversized keychain?), but it can easily be replaced. My toddler was super excited to have an extra trinket to play with on their playhouse. Hopefully, it can withstand the inclement winter weather.

Works great for Selects!
Bought this for out Chiefs Mess. The Selects got very familiar with it and it held strong.

Size listed is misleading
6" bell measured from the top of the hanger to the bottom of the striker. Diameter of 6" bell is 4". Read deep in the description for the size of the parcel.

Well, it’s a nice bell, but to say that it is 6” is exaggerating by x2…it is a 3” bell, and if you measure it WITH the hanger, it is just under 6”…Again, a nice bell, but it’s a 3” bell, not 6”…

Nice bell, connector is very low quality not brass.
Gorgeous bell, however if you plan to utilize this in a marine environment beware. There is a small metal ring to link the bell to the ringer that is not brass, but very cheap metal. This will disintegrate quickly. I plan on buying a replacement before installing. It's unfortunate that every other component is well made, but they were cheap on that part.

Loud sounding and handsome looking.
The bell is not as yellow as the photo would suggest. It is the "antique" brass - or I would call it bronze - it is more into the browns rather than yellows. I expected something a bit more rustic. The surface of this bell has high polish which makes it sort of elegant and refined. It is very loud and can easily wake up the entire neighbourhood. The tune has no Christmassy tinkle to it at all. It is rather harsh. It's a "working" bell for sure.
