what is the signal loss on this? 3.5 db or 7 db?

Signal loss is NOT -3.5dB. I can pick up PBS channels on splitters with -3.5 dB, but I can't get those channels with any of the four outs on this splitter. I called the company tech services, but the rep refused to tell me the loss. He told me that is proprietary and he wasn't allowed to divulge (which means they know people won't buy the splitter if they need -3.5dB on the outs).

Does this splitter work with 2 modems of the Coax is split between both of them?

This splitter is only designed to take the same incoming coax signal and output sending it to “two separate” sources… mbass

Would this allow inserted dc on one output port for antenna amp to appear on second output port? wouldn't this be dangerous to other connected tvs?

No. On mine, there are diodes at each output port that block unwanted dc crossover from another output port. This eliminates the necessity of dc-blocking capacitors on tvs which would add another 1 db of loss. Nice feature.
