Perfect fit and easy install 2026 Forester.
Worked perfect on my 2026 Subaru Forester. For this type of wiring and a newer vehicle, be sure to check with manufacturer as well as Amazon for compatibility. I found that Amazon did not know that this wiring would work for my new car. Their options were far more expensive and required wire splicing and running dedicated power. Only issue I had when installing was that one of the clips went flying when I pulled it. For the other clips I just put a rag over it when pulling. I did find my wayward clip half way down the driveway.

Easy install with very minor modification.
Very easy. Installed on my 2026 Forester. The only fiddly part was getting the factory pig tail out from the back left corner. It is taped back on the the harness. I used a linoleum knife to reach in and cut the tape. From there you can pull it out and remove the tape. I replaced the terminal ring on the ground wire with the larger ring supplied in the kit and then was able to use the bolt holding the metal bracket that supports the carpeted floor panel. I put the controller in the center below the hatch catch, reinstalled the styrofoam cubby and coiled the trailer wire in that ready to feed through the bottom of the hatch when needed. Make sure the rubber weather stripping goes back over the plastic sill when reinstalling.

Great Kit but there is a trick to finding the factory wiring in an Outback.
I just got finished installing this but I assume it will hold up. I installed it in a 2016 Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited. I bought an ECO Hitch from Tork Lift Central and they sold this adapter as well. It was almost twice as expensive on their website so I bought mine here. If you are still looking for a hitch I highly recommend theirs. Much better looking than the other aftermarket options and I got a 2 inch receiver unlike the $800 plus one from the dealer. Installation isn't too bad until it is time to find the plug and make the connection. Most of the online installation videos gloss over this part. I read another review somewhere that mentioned removing the cargo tie down point behind the drivers side rear seat. The plug is basically right next to the opening. i used a flat blade screwdriver to break the tape and pull the plug out the hole. The other review also mentioned fishing the adapted wiring up from under the bottom of the trim panel and pulling it out if the hole too. Then you simply plug them in and pull the wiring back behind the trim panel. Right by where you pull the wiring out you will see a couple studs with nuts on them. I cut off the small ring terminal and attached the larger one provided in the kit. It fit perfectly over the stud so I removed the nut and attached it there. From here it is your preference what to do with the wiring. I tucked it up behind the trim panel and routed the wire under the foam panels under the floor to where the spare tire is. Another review mentioned making a short extension plug to run out from the spare tire compartment through a grommet that is located there. This way you won't risk damaging the end of the wiring kit. This will probably only be easy if you are removing the bumper to install the hitch.Hopefully this helps someone else like other reviews helped me. I recommend this kit and it seems well made. Plus they included the ring terminal I needed so I didn't even have to run to the store to buy anything else.

Very simple installation
Have yet to install this into my car but, original packaging was open upon arrival with a rubber band around it to keep the product from falling out. All of the necessary hardware for installation does appear to be accounted for. Update: Installation was very simple. It is quite literally "plug and play" after installation I purchased a Test light from my local Harbor Freight for less than $5 and everything works as it is supposed to. On the installation I would recommend doing a slight bit of research for a better grounding method than the provided self-tapping screw. I removed the metal bracket and installed the ground wire to the backside of the of bracket. To do so, you will have to slightly enlarge the hole on the ground wire or replace it with the included hardware.

decent quality, annoying installation
There's more than ample wire length here, the plug for the harness is a nice fit, and the included plug fuse holder is a nice touch. Installation was fine, though would likely be a hassle at best and potentially impossible for someone without appropriate trim tools and/or someone less comfortable working with interior panels and the like. Getting a decent ground isn't straightforward either - the kit provides a sheet metal screw and specifies that hole ought to be drilled for mounting the pre-crimped ring terminal to the chassis. That's a bad way to build a circuit, especially when the connection is buried under carpet and trim panels and can't easily be revisited for checking. Fortunately there was an unused 6mm female thread insert on the inside of the bumper shell so I was able to anchor the ground through at tooth washer and with the machine thread, which should be a much more reliable connection. It's worth trying to make the ground as good as possible. The 'black box' that takes the 5 hot wires down to 3 comes with double-stick tape and can be hidden pretty easily, but still seems larger than needed and would maybe be more serviceable and reliable long-term if it were openable. It's not like this is complicated circuitry; it's basically just a bunch of splices...? [Also, lastly, the harness looks like 16GA wire but inexplicably includes includes a few 10-12GA crimp fittings?] Overall, it's fine, and should be okay as long as things stay dry and as long as the installation doesn't rely on any shortcuts.

Works perfectly, installs in minutes with hand tools. Used one of the bolts securing the trunk lid latch to ground so I didn't have to remove paint.
