Review: Better range of adjustability than the original. Holds position well. - I got this to replace a faulty cylinder on a Staples mesh office chair. The old cylinder would weep down over the course of about 20 minutes, forcing me to raise myself back up many times per day. I considered getting a new office chair, but aside from the faulty cylinder, this chair is still in great condition and is very comfortable. At first I ordered one that was too tall. It wouldn't let me adjust the chair so that my feet would touch the floor. So I bought this one instead. This one is a bit taller than the original cylinder, but I never needed the chair to be really low so that's fine. This one does allow the chair to be adjusted much taller than the old cylinder. The old one needed to be all the way up for the chair to be at a comfortable height and with this one the best height is about halfway up which is great! Since I was going to be performing surgery on my chair, I also ordered a set of polyurethane double wheels for it and I love them too! I will never use plastic wheels on an office chair anymore. These poly wheels are super nice. Overall, I turned my mediocre but comfortable office chair into a super-nice, smooth, adjustable chair that holds its height. So far I am very happy. Will it last? Time will tell. I expect run-of-the-mill chair cylinders probably last about three or four years, but my Herman Miller Aeron cylinder is probably 20 years old and still works fine. If your office chair cylinder is failing and you like your chair otherwise, then get this one. You won't be disappointed!!

A: Yes thay will replace it . why do?you whant something that may work.

**Q: Does it come with Cylinder removal kit**
A: No, there is not a removal kit included.  I would recommend watching the video on the product page, a 'how-to' remove and replace existing cylinder.  I used a regular hammer and not a short-handled sledge hammer like featured in the video and did not have any issues.

**Q: the base of my chair is 45mm, not 50mm. Do you make a tube that will fit my chair?**
A: I don’t work for the company. I’ve bought and am familiar with the products but have not run across that.

I got this to replace a faulty cylinder on a Staples mesh office chair. The old cylinder would weep down over the course of about 20 minutes, forcing me to raise myself back up many times per day. I considered getting a new office chair, but aside from the faulty cylinder, this chair is still in great condition and is very comfortable. At first I ordered one that was too tall. It wouldn't let me adjust the chair so that my feet would touch the floor. So I bought this one instead. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good and easy fix for your chair

Worked well without any crazy tools, basically I was able to use a metal hammer to remove both pieces of the piston before reinstalling the new one. The first thing you do is go ahead and lay the chair down to have access to the underside of the feet, then with your hammer you would need to take a series of firm hits to the bottom of the broken cylinder that will eventually free it from the base. Once you remove the cylinder from the base there's a chance that the actual piston that's connected to the bottom of the chair will still be attached, from there you would hit the piston from the side with a downward force and then the underside with the upward force and that will loosen the friction lock and it will pull right out. Once you get that to reinstall the new piston is easy drop the bottom into the wheel section of the chair pull off the access cap for the piston and put your old chair back on the new piston and carefully sit on the chair and you have created the friction lock and it is ready to go. I have the GT racing Ace chair series and this cylinder worked great, it gave me extra height but will adjust to the lowest position if needed and I wouldn't worry about colors because if you reuse the cylinder cover then you won't see if you purchased a silver or black piston so save yourself a couple bucks.
