Home Economics Household Skills: Becoming a daughter of purpose

She covers it all! She teaches the basics throughly like my grandmother use to teach them, nothing mediocre about her lessons. But amazingly they are still short and simple. Wow!My 13 years daughter loved it. Do I need to say more. I am going to get the second one when she finishes this one.

I got this book for my 6 and 8 year old to do and i will be skipping some of it this year as it is geared towards 12 to 13 year old girls. but it is fantastic and has a lot of awesome lessons every little girls should learn.

A very thorough and thoughtful Home Economics Curriculum. The book is well worth the price, as it gives a systematic approach to teaching children (and adults!) life-essential, every-day skills. It will not only make my house of five children run more smoothly, but will also ensure successful management of my children's homes. Amy Maryon offers many of her ideas on her website, which is a great supplement to the curriculum. The book is definitely more thorough and offers Christian devotions (mainly in the area of Character -respect, attentiveness, alertness,optimism, poise, hope, etc.), reflection worksheets and teacher evaluation sheets. I often catch myself curling up with it on the couch and reading it myself. Lots of information and encouragement! I don't usually write a lot of feedback, but I really think this book is remarkable.

I purchased this book to help me, a grandfather, teach his granddaughters skills they need and want to learn. It is Christian based - another life skill teenagers need desperately. It is easy to follow, easy to teach from, has excellent subject materials. And even I am learning things! It gives me phenomenal quality time with the granddaughters for home life skills. I also teach them fishing, hunting, camping and other outdoor activities as well. Thank you so much for this book. Note: boys could learn from this well.

Enjoying this book so far! Got this for our 13 year old daughter's homeschool curriculum. I like that is has a biblical basis and that it teaches/encourages practical life skills. Her and I are enjoying going through it.

We bought this for our High School Freshman daughter to use for her home economics credit. It seems to be a really good and thorough curriculum for anybody wanting to learn household skills and food preparation. These kinds of skills will disappear because of everybody's busy lives if we don't teach them to our children. It's amazing how many people, including adult women don't know who cook from "scratch" anymore. I'm thankful for this lady writing this book to not let "keeping a home" become a lost art! Fantastic home ec book. It is more than just learning how to cook. It is well written with many ideas for young ladies!

This book is a must for young ladies in high school. It's great!
