The movie was directed by Ron Howard and Langdon was again played by Tom Hanks. The movie starts with Langdon waking up in a hospital in Italy with no memory of his past few days. After an attempt on Langdon's life in the hospital, his doctor, Sienna Brooks (played by Rogue One's Felicity Jones), helps him escape, and from there the movie pretty much follows the format of the prior movies, with Langdon having to solve various clues (this time tied to Dante's Inferno, hence the title of the movie) to figure out a larger plot. Here the larger plot involves a billionaire named Bertrand Zobrist who has invented a way to deal with the overpopulation of the earth, and the movie is really about Langdon finding a weapon that will carry out Zobrist's plan. For those who get the blu-ray, the A/V quality is very good, and the visuals of Italy look great in HD. The extras include about 30 minutes of deleted and extended scenes, a couple of making-of featurettes including interviews with the cast and crew, and Dan Brown, discussing the story, a feature on the filming locations, short featurettes on each of the main characters, and a director's journal in which Howard discusses the process of making the movie. Then there are previews for other Sony movies. What is included is good, but there are not tons of extras. Overall, I think if you enjoyed the first two movies, The Davinci Code and Angels and Demons, you will probably like this one too. While I do think the other movies were a bit better than this one, I do think it is a worthy follow-up and a good way to end the trilogy. Hanks stepped back into the role of Langdon easily, and Felicity Jones in her role as the female lead. The story does have a lot of twists and turns, some of which can be a bit silly, but if you have seen the other movies, you kind of come to expect that.
