This is a MUST for RV owners with doghouse heat issues!!
This is PERFECT for an RV doghouse/engine cover! I saw this mentioned in an RV forum and was about to buy a similar product that was thinner/cheaper but I decided to go with this since the price wasn’t that much difference but the thickness was much better with this product. We have a motor home and the engine cover is between the front seats. It gets VERY warm, especially during the summer months of travel and it’s always noisy, but we mainly really wanted the heart reduction properties. This came in the day of our trip and I decided to try to install it, it was really simple, cutting a piece and sticking it on, then trimming the edges. Our engine cover is an odd custom fiberglass shape, almost like a huge ice scoop. This still confirmed to the curves and edges really easily. It even stuck really well to the existing thin reflective material that was already in place with industrial glue. So the sticky backing is really strong! But most importantly, there is NO HEAT coming from the engine anymore! It’s amazing! I can feel the transition from the base of the engine cover where there is no dynamat, to the engine cover where I installed the dynamat and WOW! I would say there is easily 40° of heat difference at least. There is just zero heat coming from the engine into the cab now. This product is WAY better than I even hoped! I really feel like the engine noise is much better than before too, so that’s an added bonus for us as well! Highly highly recommend this especially for RV owners!

Nice Product, Bit Spendy
Used this to quiet down my van engine cover. It installed fairly easy. I used new razor blades to cut it to size. It tended to not cut easily and ripped a few times. I cleaned all surfaces with a degreaser and then alcohol and a couple of spots still didn't want to stick. Ended up using some spray adhesive to complete the project. Am happy with the overall results. Noise was reduced by about half.

Easy to trim & install, w/real benfits as soon as you turn the key + USA-made! What's not to love?
Instant relief from engine noise and a major reduction in the amount of heat felt thru the hood. Application couldn't have been any easier. I held up the 1-piece sheet to check measurements for the hood of my '85 Jeep CJ-7 and luckily for me it was an almost perfect fit; no trimming was required. I tore off about a 1/3 of the waxy paper backing and fit it tight against the leading edge of the underside of the hood - about an inch back - pushing lightly until it stuck. Then I pulled off the remaining backing and pressed the rest of the liner into place, pushing firmly, inching along until the whole sheet was tacked in. That's it! It looks good and the best thing is that you start getting benefits the second you drop the hood and fire your engine up. I also used this same product on the underside of my ZTR lawn mower deck shields to quiet down pulley & blade whir noise, as well as under the engine hood. Again, a quick easy install with zero issues. That project was done back in 2013 and it's still holding up remarkably well. Dynamat is the real deal and their 1-piece hoodliner is an excellent product. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for simple, efficient reduction of both engine heat & noise. It's also nice to purchase a product that's still made in the USA and actually works as advertised. 5 STARS!

Works great to quiet RV engine and road noise
I have an Itasca Reyo motor home, which is a class A that was built by Winnebago on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis. Unlike lots of other Sprinter-based motor homes, on this one Winnebago built the while box and did not leave the van front end and hood. They weren’t focused on sound deadening, so we could hear the diesel engine at times. I found this hoodliner to be easy to install in the tight engine compartment and around braces and obstructions. It is staying in place great, and has reduced the engined and highway noise that we hear as we drive. Exactly what I was looking for.

A typically high quality Dynamat product
I've used Dynamat products before for sound and vibration reduction around door-mounted speakers, so my expectations were high. I used it to line the so-called "doghouse" (i.e., engine cover) of my Class C RV. While it didn't decrease the sound level of the engine as much as I had hoped, it made a huge difference on how hot the doghouse gets while driving. I'm very glad I bought it.

Class A motorhome is much quieter, and cooler
I used this to insulate the engine compartment cover (doghouse) of my 2017 Thor 24.1 class A motorhome. I would estimate it reduced the sound level by 50%, and the heat coming up from the engine compartment by 70%.. I was able to put two layers inside the engine compartment cover itself. Then I used the remaining material to insulate under the radio and to the upright sections by your feet. I cleaned the surfaces with rubbing alcohol before applying the foam. I used a silver Hvac tape to cover the edges of the foam. This upgrade was easily worth the time and money. I will enjoy it for years.

Very good quality.
Excellent product. Trying to manage a noisy RV. Sticks very, very well to dry clean surfaces. Will not stick to OEM firewall insulation though. Too much residual oil I believe....even after cleaning thoroughly. I'll have to spray some 3M adhesive in addition to the self adhesive backing. Well made & thick enough to make a difference...cut's quite well for a good pair of large scissors. Large and small radius cuts are easy to do. Recommended !

Works well, easy to apply, but sheds annoyingly sheds logo paint
I used this to insulate the engine compartment on a sailboat. It was easy to work with, applied well, and was effective at reducing the noise (20 db reduction measured). My only complaint is the logo emblazoned in white on the product sheds off into a kind of white snow that got everywhere.
