I have macular degeneration.  Will this help me read music?

I can't imagine that anyone other than a doctor could answer this question accurately. Actually, I'm not even sure a doctor could answer this question.

Here's what I can tell you about this product. It will give you various levels of magnification and will help you to get light on what you're looking at. For me, it's difficult to use them far away from what I'm looking at. I've got to get in pretty close. I would have a hard time reading music with my face far enough away to hold my guitar, or play piano.

I use these for woodworking and soldering. So getting pretty close to what I'm trying to see, say about a foot away or less, is really natural for me and it's how I use this magnifier.

I doubt that this answer really helped you very much, but it's really the best I could do.

Yes.  But reading glasses would be better and probably far more comfortable

Yes, this headband magnifier would be ideal for that. I use it for that purpose all the time. It's good for any task requiring close up vision. I use it if I have to pick a splinter out, and many other tasks. I mostly use it for electronic work on circuit boards, but it is great whenever you need to see close and clear. The kit comes with a number of different lens magnifications so you can easily find the level of magnification you need. The light is great as well. The headband is easily adjusted and comfortable. Yes that would seem to be a great application to put the magnifier to use.  Anything that is small and intricate benefits from being able to see in magnified detail.  Being able to change and combine different magnification levels makes them much more versatile than the more common, single power types. Having both light and magnification that follows your gaze makes this kind of activoty easier and less tiring to do.
