Excellent for learning to read Spanish.
For someone just learning to read Spanish, this book is an excellent resource. The novel is engrossing and the glossary at the back is helpful.

I love these books!
I love this series of books. I'm learning Spanish on my own and these are great to read for practice and even read out loud to practice saying the words. The books are simple but not totally boring for adults. I think the authors were very thoughtful when they put this series together. The series comes with books that get progressively more difficult at the right steps for a learner who wants to read more and more. I'm not good enough to read the newspaper in Spanish, yet, so these books are great and at a good price.

clever, charming story
The translation of almost all of the words in the story are given in the glossary. I suggest you keep a Spanish dictionary at hand when reading the story. I bought the book to brush up on my Spanish, and I plan to pass it on to my grandson who is taking Spanish in high school. Almost all verbs use the past tense in this book. This book is the sequel to "El Viaje de Su Vida" by the same authors. It is slightly more difficult.

My students loved it
My Spanish students are often frustrated that their vocabulary level just isn't quite up to the ability of reading "real" Spanish Literature, but both the Level 2 and Level 1 students are able to study a short list of vocabulary and work through an interesting story that keeps them wanting to turn the pages and discuss it the next week in class. I thought it was QUITE well done.Sra. GoseAuthor of Flip Flop Spanish: Ages 3-5: Level 1 & Spanish Fun Activity Calendar

Fun Spanish practice
Better than just reading textbooks or internet articles; These short story books are in a series of different levels; back of the book has vocabulary. Small size paperback; easy to carry in a purse/commuter bag. Subject audience age range varies; a few books are more geared for junior high to high school. Others are high-school/college level to adult.

Students didn't mind this one
I've used many of the TPRS readers in my Spanish classroom. This is one that even my students enjoyed. The characters are more interesting than usual, in particular the "curandera/healer" old grandma. You can't expect a great plot from easy readers, but this had at least some interesting dialogue in it.

This series is good for practicing Spanish. It's interesting stories with the grammar and vocabulary controlled so that you can learn faster & easier. It uses basic, necessary language so no time is wasted on words you'll never see again.
