These whiskey ice balls have totally elevated my at-home sipping experience! This ice mold is wonderful! I had another one and it would leak all over my freezer, freeze to the shelf, and leave an ice puddle where it was sitting. So I ordered this mold to try and change that. This ice mold does not leak, is super easy to fill and clean, and the ice always comes out round! There are also three, which is a great number to rotate. The ice can seem difficult to remove at first, but there are two things you can do to help that: 1— let it sit out for a bit, or 2— run a tiny bit of water over the plastic bottom before trying to remove the ice. If I had to nit pick anything, it would be that the ice is cloudy and the ice breaks in half after a bit in my drink, but that seems minor compared to the functionality.

Update: I was bummed about how cloudy the ice was and how it fractured because of that, so I did an experiment on directional freezing with these. I got a package recently with some large foam. I cut out 2 pieces. One is like a collar that goes around the mold and the other I cut a cavity in to put over the top like a cap. I used warm water and put the mold in silicon side up. The foam forced it to freeze mostly from the bottom up and the ice is mostly clear. You can see the center still has some cloudiness. I think near the later freeze stages, the hole in the top of the silicon froze closed and the remaining air got trapped. But it was way better. My pictures show one mold without the foam collar and one with. Original: The mold work pretty well. It's a little hard to get the ice out of the upper silicon mold unless you spend some time running it under water. The use has a noticeable seam around the circumference that is more pronounced if you over fill the mold. If you're looking for supper clear ice, this isn't it. You get fractures and opaque cloudiness in the ice and sometimes the ball breaks up while you are sipping your beverage. But for the price, these are nice to have and give you an ice ball that far exceeds cubed ice fit your whiskey or other beverage, which keeps the drink cold without melting fast and watering down your drink.

A bartender told me about these ice forms, and I'm really glad she did. They are really easy to fill and freeze. They don't spill on the way to the freezer. You do need to let them sit at room temperature for a minute before you can get them out of the form, but they do release pretty quickly and work great for scotch, bourbon, or whiskey.

I love to have a cocktail after a long day and this ice sphere mold set makes a great addition to my home bar. The mold is easy to use and easy to remove the spheres. They are the perfect size for my rocks glasses. I love these for the price. I would recommend these to anyone wanting an easy to use ice sphere mold for their drinks.
