why is product clear in color

Silver particles are extremely small. If it was cloudy or gray, there would be either too much silver in it, or the particles would be too big to be useful.

I have read if you overuse this your skin could change color permanently to a bluish gray. If I use it every single day could that happen?

Can't tell you WHY this product clear... but I will say that THIS STUFF IS AMAZING!! I keep a bottle in the kitchen and use it IMMEDIATELY, whenever I experience minor (or major) burns, and frequently. Most burns are totally gone in 2-3 days.
