We bought a new house that included a hot tub and we went through multiple cleaning cycles and draining, including purging with Oh, Yuck! and doing a majorly strong chlorine clean, even though our long-term sanitizer is bromine. Between Oh, Yuck! and this chlorine, plus draining between cleaning types, we feel confident that the hot tub is safe to use. (We're a bit paranoid due to friends having contracted an illness from a resort hot tub.) Using this and test strips to measure PPM, I was able to get the chlorine levels right where we wanted them.

Good dichlor for hot tub but pricey in this quantity. Larger amount should be a better buy.
