You would need powered speakers. The sub only has an amplifier for its sub. I would strongly consider purchasing SVS subwoofer rather than a budget Velodyne

Yes, but small pins would probably fit. I sent this sub back for a refund and purchased a SVS sub.

You should be able to use both subs, (according) to your receiver's specs, with connection outlets built in to (specifically) handle this type of connection . Also bear in mind since using 2 subs, take into consideration other major factors* Room Size, Sub Placement, Room Acoustics - Flooring- wood/carpet , Furniture - chairs, sofas - leather - wood - cloth , Art objects. All of these items has an effect on room acoustics as well, Reflecting or Absorbing sound as well. Similar situation to a concert hall's layout. Experimenting this will ( Surprise ) you , fine tune your listening space *****
