Vey good budget PSU
MSI MAG A650BN Review: Dependable Power for Mid-Range Builds The MSI MAG A650BN is a solid 650W power supply that delivers dependable performance for gamers, creators, and everyday users. With 80+ Bronze certification, a quiet 120mm fan, and essential protections built-in, it’s a smart choice for budget-conscious builders who don’t want to compromise on safety or stability. 🔌 Efficient and Reliable Power Delivery Rated at 80+ Bronze, the A650BN offers up to 85% efficiency under typical loads. That means less wasted energy, lower heat output, and reduced electricity bills over time. It’s ideal for systems running mid-range GPUs like the RTX 4060 or RX 7600, and even handles the RTX 5060 with ease. 🛡️ Industrial-Grade Protections MSI includes all the key safety features: Over Voltage Protection (OVP), Over Current Protection (OCP), Over Power Protection (OPP), Over Temperature Protection (OTP), and Short Circuit Protection (SCP). These ensure your components stay safe even during power fluctuations. 🌬️ Quiet Cooling with a 120mm Fan The built-in fan runs quietly and efficiently, keeping internal temperatures stable without adding noise to your setup. It’s a great fit for home offices or gaming rigs where acoustics matter. 🧩 Clean Design and Easy Cabling While it’s not modular, the included cables are well-sleeved and long enough for most ATX cases. The matte black finish and compact dimensions make it easy to integrate into clean builds. 💸 Excellent Value for Entry-Level to Mid-Tier Systems For under £50, the A650BN offers a compelling mix of efficiency, safety, and brand reliability. MSI may be better known for motherboards and GPUs, but this PSU proves they can deliver quality across the board. If you're building a system with a modern CPU and a single GPU, the MSI MAG A650BN is a dependable power source that won’t let you down. It’s not flashy—but it’s functional, efficient, and built to last.

Solid.
So this is powering the computer I'm working on right now. It's difficult to over-stress the need for a decent power supply, and this is really good. It has all the connectors you'd expect. Obviously as it's non-modular, cable management is slightly more difficult, but if your case has a basement, then that hides them nicely. I haven't noticed any real sound from it, so that's good. All my voltages are where they should be.

Great value
Just ridiculous value at this price, perfect for my £400 build. Powering a gtx 1070 perfectly. Awesome

Good Quality With Some Drawbacks
This PSU is a true 650w as has 54amps on the 12v rail but the issue with this is that I could never use 650w as only comes with two Pcie 8 pin cables which would be a maximum of 300w this seems like a very strange decision by MSI made even more surprising when looking on the 80plus website this PSU is 80 plus silver at 230v and only just misses out on a gold rating. Also found the sata and molex wire guage to be small and feel cheap. Very odd power supply would be a clear five stars if came with extra Pcie cables

A solid budget PSU, but I'd look at Gold for a new build
I bought this as a replacement for an older underpowered power supply and it did exactly what I needed it to do. Installation was straightforward, it ran quietly enough for my needs and the system remained stable without any power-related issues after the upgrade. For older systems or budget upgrades, the 650W capacity and Bronze efficiency rating make a lot of sense and it represents good value for money. That said, if I was building a brand new system around more modern and power-hungry hardware, I'd probably spend a little extra and move up to an 80 Plus Gold unit for the improved efficiency and potentially better long-term value. Overall, this was a solid, reliable power supply that worked perfectly for giving an older tower a new lease of life.

Reliable PSU, easy to work with
I used the MSI MAG A650BN power supply in a build with a ASUS PRIME RX 9060 XT OC and it’s been solid. Installation was straightforward and it was easy to cable manage. It looks clean in the case and has been running reliably with no issues. Pros: • Easy to install and cable manage • Clean look in the build • Reliable performance Cons: • Nothing to complain about so far Overall, a good PSU that does the job well and works nicely in a mid-range build.
