My kids had a lot of fun with them until their room because a safety hazard and I "relocated" bags full of God knows what. I think these would work best in a home where people are able to keep their children's rooms more organized. Still, if you can do that, these are great for pretend play, and it is cheap and easy to make your own felt board with a large piece of felt, a precut board from a home improvement store, spray glue, and a staple gun to secure the felt around the back of the board. (Just keep the cat away!)

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How big are the pieces? Im looking to amake a quiet book and I'm wondering if you could use these on a single page.**
A: The barn is the largest piece and is approx 5”x4”... most of the pieces are 1 to 2”... also the farm boy is 5” to 6” tall. They would make a great quiet book, but maybe would have to limit them to fit on just one page. I made a felt board for them and they were somewhat hard to stay stuck on the board. The colors and characters are very nicely done. Good luck on your project!

**Q: Would these pieces hold up in water?**
A: I have not tried to put in water since it’s not meant to be in water but can’t imagine it gets damaged  by it. I think flannel is water repellent and might float.

**Q: How many peices come with this set?**
A: I think there are 18 total.  An absolute favorite of my grandson . A great item to have on a long car trip.  Many teaching opportunities.

**Q: Does this come with a felt board?**
A: You can make a wonderful flannel board cheaper than any flannel/felt board on Amazon. No offense Amazon.  Go to You Tube. They have  lots of tutorials. I made one using 2 16×20 canvas boards. All of my materials were about $20 and it is sturdy and portable.  Look on You Tube for the Home and Family Show flannel/felt boards tutorial. If I can make one, any body can.

They stick to our homemade felt board we fashioned with Martha Stewart's help. Our three year old has played with them a little, mostly when we play with him. I think this will be one of those toys he grows into. I remember when I was five years old in 1986 I would watch the kindergartner teacher, teach us about farm animals using her felt board and cut out shapes. At that age I found it was fascinating, and I am sure when my son gets to that age he will start to give these more use.
