Review: An Eight-Pound Jug Makes Sense When Popcorn Is a Daily Favorite - Popcorn is a staple in our house. We eat it almost daily, so buying this eight-pound jug of Orville Redenbacher's made perfect sense. It's a great combination of quality, quantity, and value from a name I've long associated with good popcorn. My husband and I are both fitness professionals, and we pay attention to our portions, carbohydrates, and overall calories. We still want snacks we actually enjoy, though! Popcorn fits nicely into that balance for us, and I appreciate the fiber it provides. Making it ourselves also lets us decide what goes on it and how much. Sometimes we add cheddar cheese powder for homemade cheese popcorn. Other times we use cayenne pepper or Cajun seasoning to give it a little kick. Being able to change up the flavors keeps a familiar snack interesting, and we don't get tired of it. For a household that goes through popcorn as often as ours does, this bulk size is a practical pantry purchase. We've been very happy with it, and it's an easy recommendation from me. Five stars. Review: My Go To Popcorn Kernels for Years - Popcorn is my favorite snack, and I have been purchasing these original kernels in this size for years. I have tried several other brands, but none of them have been as consistent. Just about every kernel pops, and I am rarely left with a large amount of unpopped or burned kernels at the bottom of the pan. The popcorn always comes out fluffy and delicious. Other brands I have tried tend to burn quickly while still leaving quite a few kernels unpopped, so I always come back to these. I usually cook my popcorn on the stove. I recently switched from using a pot to a pan because less condensation collects on the lid and drips onto the popcorn, which helps keep it from becoming soggy. The large 8 pound container lasts a long time and is more economical for someone who eats popcorn regularly. Every time I open a new container, it is filled all the way to the top rather than having a lot of empty space inside. This has been my trusted choice for years, and I have no reason to switch. ## Features - One 8 lb. jug of Orville Redenbacher's Original Gourmet Popcorn Kernels - Enjoy light, fluffy popcorn with these 100% natural gourmet popcorn kernels - Pop up some deliciousness with gluten free, Non-GMO Project Verified yellow popping corn - Get creative with your snacking; add candies, pretzels, nuts, fruits or toppings for added yum - Great for game night, movie night or anytime snacking ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00819SSGK | | Age Range Description | All Ages | | Allergen Information | Gluten Free | | Best Sellers Rank | #339 in Grocery & Gourmet Food ( See Top 100 in Grocery & Gourmet Food ) #1 in Unpopped Popcorn Kernels | | Brand | Orville Redenbacher's | | Brand Name | Orville Redenbacher's | | Container Type | Can | | Cuisine | Universal | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 76,299 Reviews | | Diet Type | Gluten Free | | Flavor | Gourmet Yellow | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00027000485514, 20027000445567 | | Item Dimensions | 5 x 10 x 10 inches | | Item Highlight | 4g fiber per serving; yellow kernels; use your hot air popper, stovetop popcorn maker, or popcorn machine; bulk pantry staple | | Item Package Weight | 3.81 kg | | Item Type Name | Original Popcorn Kernels | | Item Weight | 8 pounds | | Manufacturer | Conagra | | Model Number | 00027000485514 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | Package Size Name | 8 lb | | Package Type Name | Bottle | | Part Number | 48551 | | Region of Origin | USA | | Set Name | Single | | Size | 128 Ounce (Pack of 1) | | Specialty | Gluten Free | | UPC | 027000485514 | | Unit Count | 128 Ounce | ## Product Details - **Allergen Information:** Gluten Free - **Brand:** Orville Redenbacher's - **Flavor:** Gourmet Yellow - **Item Weight:** 8 pounds - **Specialty:** Gluten Free ## Images ![Orville Redenbacher's Gourmet Popcorn Kernels, Original Yellow, 8 lb. - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/812EySeLZ5L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Flavor** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Eight-Pound Jug Makes Sense When Popcorn Is a Daily Favorite *by M***. on September 24, 2026* Popcorn is a staple in our house. The quality of the kernels has always been good and makes a tasty snack, but the one thing I will say is,the popcorn turns out much better (in my opinion) using a hot air popper like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006IUWA?th=1 (The Presto 04820 Poplite Hot Air Popcorn Popper,if the link doesn't work.) then one that goes in the microwave like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004W4UP (The Nordic Ware Microwave Popcorn Popper,if the link doesn't work.) I own both of these and always go back to using the hot air popper over the microwave,it makes fluffy flawless popcorn every time, there's a reason this style of popper has been around since the late 70's,because it works, the microwave popper, not so much,I mean unless you like your popcorn dry and crispy with burnt notes, don't waste good popcorn on bad equipment. The jug is pretty heavy when it's full,so if you can't lift heavy things (like me),I suggest putting the popcorn in a smaller container (I use a mason jar with a screw lid),and just refill that when it gets low, instead of hauling out the entire jug (I use the smallest scoop from this set: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08XC5RKKN?th=1 for refilling - The 3 in 1 Ice Scoop Set, Multi Purpose Plastic Kitchen Scoops,if the link doesn't work) it makes life so much easier, work smarter not harder,as they say. If you love popcorn, and want lots of it,I'd definitely recommend buying it this way,it's a much better deal then what you get in the stores with the bags and jars (the biggest one my local stores carry is 30 oz for around $7.50,although,I did see a different brand with a 60 oz container for around $9.49,so make of that what you will.) I still say you can't go wrong with 8 lbs of popcorn though,as long as they keep making it,I'll keep buying it! ## Frequently Bought Together - Orville Redenbacher's Gourmet Popcorn Kernels, Original Yellow, 8 lb. - Orville Redenbacher's Popcorn Oil, Butter Flavor, 16 fl oz - Concession Essentials Flavacol Popcorn Season Salt, 1ct-35oz Carton --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sk/products/3894418-orville-redenbachers-gourmet-popcorn-kernels-original-yellow-8-lb](https://www.desertcart.sk/products/3894418-orville-redenbachers-gourmet-popcorn-kernels-original-yellow-8-lb) --- *Product available on Desertcart Slovakia* *Store origin: SK* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
