Very flawed design and instructions, largely useless without reworking.
Firstly the provided instructions were badly translated and misleading. Then it refers to matching LEDs to numbers where there is no separation and all appear the same. The resistor codes were for 5 bands but 4 band ones in the kit. The boards needed a lot of filing to fit together, and the instructions miss details about connecting power through that mounting process. Worse still the convention on PCB round vs square pads for LEDs had been swapped but the PCB labels have been drilled through leading to incorrect assembly unless you trace the PCB circuit. There are screws to mount the battery case but no details and appear not to fit anywhere. As a whole I've had to hack it to get it working, so would avoid this shoddy kit unless you enjoy debugging circuits.

Only one led flashed
Very poor instructions. - Resister colour code on instructions didn't match the number of bands on the resisters, - Couldn’t see on the board which way around leds should be inserted and soldered (not sure if I have put them the wrong way around). - Only one led worked, at the top of the tree.Good soldering practice, just a shame it didn’t work.

Great to learn soldering
Love this project to teach soldering to people as it has enough parts for a person to get comfortable with soldering. Some projects have much fewer which doesn't give a new user enough practice to get fully comfortable with it. Would highly recommend for anyone learning how to solder.

Serves the purpose but with major flaws
Liked:- Simple idea for any age- Quality components- Verbose PCB markings- Nice packaging- USB power cord includedIssues:First, there are no instructions (and no reference) except the wiring scheme. You have to know the components. The kit is not suitable for complete beginners or unsupervised studies.Second, there are no spare parts.Third, some components are inconsistent with each other. My kit included resistors 330, 1k and 2k to limit the current through LEDs as if there were 3 kinds of LEDs. However, all LEDs are the same. As a result, 1/3 of all LEDs are bright, 1/3 are ok and 1/3 (those connected to 2k) barely produce any light. The included capacitors are smaller than those stated on adeept web page: as a result, the tree flashes like crazy and does not produce a smooth lighting pattern you may see in videos. I did not manage to put the top-of-the-tree LED: it does not seem to be wired at all in my PCB. All of the above produces an impression of an incomplete kit with little to no actual testing.Fourth, you really need to apply force to make those PCBs aligned. Like a hammer force.Overall, I imagine many buyers abandoning this kit incomplete. I would certainly think twice before buying any advanced kit from the seller / producer.

tolles DIY Projekt und gute Lötübung
The media could not be loaded.
