Great basic cable lock - until it's not
Edit 9/23/2022: After using this lock for nine months, I went to remove it after locking my bike to the bike rack and it wouldn't unlock. I tried for a few minutes, moving the dials a number in each direction and attempting to pull it apart. then, I decided to just break it. I was able to twist it and break it in my hands. I am a 60-year-old man and I broke the lock with my hands. It is an OK lock. The bad part was that it got jammed. I am guessing one of the dials spun on its center and the slot wasn't lined up properly with the numbers anymore.. I am old, but I can remember the combination I have been using for a couple of years.I live in an upper middle class suburb. I ride my bike to the grocery and to the library and for errands that are less than 7 miles and have safe routes. Many folks do not lock their bikes in our area and once in a while one goes missing. It usually turns up a couple blocks away. To avoid that hassle, I use this cable lock. It's lightweight, easy to carry, and it is a deterrent. It's a pretty good lock that will keep honest people honest. I don't think it will stop a prepared thief who wants your bike. I wouldn't use it to lock a bike all day, every day in an unsecure place. No cable lock will suffice in that situation. I have a large, heavy U-shaped key lock for those occasions. Even that won't stop a determined thief with a 20 volt grinder.

Sturdy, good number visibility, gets the job done
No cable lock is "high security", but these are definitely better than most I've seen. The numbers on the dials are high visibility, which is a HUGE bonus in my book, and the action is smooth and reliable. I bought six of these things and set them all to the same combo, and my family uses them interchangeably to lock their bikes up to a single mountpoint in the garage. Works really well. The six foot version has plenty of reach to lock two bikes at once through their forks and around a shackle, rack, or pole. The included bracket to mount the lock onto the bike itself while riding is pretty useless, though. It only fits on the seatpipe - and only on a full sized adult bike, and only if you don't have tail lights, or a shock absorber in the seatpipe, etc. That knocks it out for every single one of the six bikes in my family. If you want to ride with this lock instead of leaving it at home, you'll need to toss it in a saddlebag, or backpack, or just lock it looped around your fork, like any other lock. With that said, it coils up into a tight loop without fuss every time, so it is plenty easy to bag-pack, even in a pretty small saddlebag or handlebar-mounted pouch.

A Little Longer and a Little Thicker, Well Made, Good Cable and Lock for the Money; Will Stop All But Very Determined Thieves
This is a really nice lock and cable at an attractive price. The 1/2 inch thick cable is a little more theft resistant to the average goon trying to cut it with a cable cutter. Most of the cable locks in this price range are only 3/8 inch thick or .40 inch thick. Yes, it could be cut if the thief were determined enough, but I think this one is solid enough that only a determined, veteran bike thief would succeed in cutting it. That small bit of extra protection thus gets rid of about 90 percent of the thieves out there. Most will look this lock, especially if it is securing a modestly prices bike, and just move on to easier prey. The 6 feet length is great, especially when, like me, you like to snake the cable through the front wheel, too, to keep a thief from swiping your quick release front wheel. It seems solidly built. The mount works fine and is easy to attach. Very happy with this item. It was easy to set the combination to my desired 4 digit code. Came with easy to follow instructions.

Worked for 3 weeks then would not open! Had to buy CUTTERS to cut this piece of junk
Do not buy. This lock. It is not safe. Received the lock quickly (thank you Amazon), changed the code, and my kid used this away at college for three weeks. The night before last I get a call at 11PM from her on campus and the lock won’t open. She is stuck, far from her dorm, with her bike locked to a metal pole by a parking garage. I had to DRIVE down to her campus in the middle of the night, while she stood there ALONE, and even then I could not get this piece of junk to open (entering the code over and over, knocking it against the cement to try to budge whatever wasn’t letting the digits go into place, twisting it, turning it, and on and on). So, I drove her back to her dorm and made the drive home. Yesterday I had to go out and buy cutters for more than double the cost of this lock, went to a REAL BIKE STORE, purchased a decent quality lock, and drove back to her campus, cut the lock, and took her bike to her. What an absolute pain. The security features of this lock, on one hand, are stellar -if you don’t want someone being able to take your bike, but sadly that will include you. On the flip side, if you don’t want to be stuck without being able to use a quick mode of transportation to stay safe, probably do NOT buy this lock. My return window passed 3 days ago so let my loss be your gain. Do your self a favor and take the time to pick up a $30 bike lock from your local bike store. The cost difference is way more than worth your time in inconvenience.

Excellent security cable
I have three of these and don't even have a bike. I use them to secure items like mobility scooters, utility carts and other expensive devices I don't wandering off to parts unknown. The cable is thick with a very resilient plastic covering that will not mar what you are securing. The combination lock is easy to set up. (Just make sure you write the combination down somewhere you won't forget - otherwise, you're in for a tough time.)Very flexible, the cable can be essentially molded to fit into some weird configurations. As I said, I own three of these and am very pleased with the product.Jerry
