After all the “positive” reviews I decided to buy one. Worked the first time I had to open a can. The second time I had to use it was three weeks later and it wouldn’t work. Tried to return it to Amazon but they wouldn’t take it, I had to email the manufacturer and explain the problem. They ended up sending me a replacement which worked the first time. When I tried to open a second can, it wouldn’t work. Not worth trying a third time so I just threw both in the trash and bought a manual opener from a different brand. I should have requested a refund but I was too upset to contact the manufacturer.

Solid and weighty with the batteries, but that gives it a good capable feel. After it finishes, sometimes it is not easy to use the notch on the opposite end from the cutter to remove the lid. Not had any issues or misfires. would highly recommend. I like the look and feel and the weight of it and the excellent job it does.

For smaller kitchen spaces, this might be a concern as it can limit the available workspace.One of the most frustrating issues I encountered was with the battery cover, which has a tendency to fall off easily. This not only results in the inconvenience of constantly having to reattach it but also raises concerns about the longevity and durability of the product.Despite these drawbacks, I must acknowledge that the Kitchen Mama Auto 2.0 Electric Can Opener does succeed in its primary function – it does open cans eventually. This can opener works very well and is easy to clean. The automatic aspect is great and once it latches onto the can, it goes all the way around all by itself.The only reason I've given 4 stars instead of 5 is the learning curve. The instructions for use are very lacking and I found it confusing to figure out how to use it. I also tend to forget how to properly latch it onto a can after I haven't used it in the while, especially since it's not very clear how you're supposed to set it on the can for it to latch.

I was a little concerned when I bought this opener but painful arthritis in my hand made it impossible to use a standard opener. This opener is a great design. Easy to understand and operate. Does exact,y what it’s designed to do. Will be referring this to friends.

Great can opener. Period! But really Great for my wife with arthritis in her hands. She would call on me to open cans for her, but sometimes I wasn't at home. No problem now!Our other can opener was manual and left the no-sharp edges...what she liked.This opener does that, too...and can be stored in the drawer, not taking up any counter space!!I like it. She likes it. We HIGHLY recommend it!

Purchased this opener for my son who has a disability. This makes opening cans easier and safer than other types of openers. He had a similar one to this one that he had used for a couple of years that bit the dust. The best thing about this opener is that it doesn't leave sharp edges on the can. It takes the whole top off the metal can and leaves a smooth edge which keeps him safe from sharp cuts. I highly recommend this for those with disabilities that are able to perform these tasks, as well they would work great for the elderly if you have concerns regarding cuts.

Bought Dec 23rd, 2023 and it's broken already! It locked onto a can, stopped turning, just kept running without moving, I kept trying to shut it off with the on/off button, but it just kept reversing the motor, without turning on the can. Finally, I took the batteries out of it to shut it off, and it wouldn't let go of the can, so I pried it off with pliers, the wheel that is supposed to turn, does nothing.Edited to add..............I wrote the original review on January 16th, when the opener broke, while in use. The seller contacted me offering to address my issues on January 23rd. I responded back that same day, reiterating my issue. They contacted me again, Feb. 8th, with further questions, I responded, the same day. They responded on Feb 9th, advising a replacement was on the way, and would arrive the 10th. It did, I've used it twice, it hasn't broken so far, and it's February 15th! I've upgraded my rating to 3 stars, because once someone read my review, they did begin the process to try to make it right, and once they assigned someone to that task, she did stay right with it. If it's still working in a year I'll update again.

I bought this an a disability aid due to increasing difficulties with my hands, it is amazing, you simply plonk it on the tin so the blade is up to the edge, press the button, stand back and watch. It goes around and removes the lid. When finished it stops, you lift it up and, if steel the lid is stuck to the can opener, and hey presto, opened tin!. The opened tin has a rolled edge, so you couldn’t cut yourself if you tried, in the interests of consumer testing I tried, nothing, I’m thinking of repurposing tins for seedlings now the edges are that smooth. The lid is equally safe to handle. The unit is light enough, nice and bright, it does make a bit of a racket going round, but it’s well worth putting up with. I used it on a tin with a ring pull on it, it took the lid off that without any issue whatsoever, I did wonder if it would get snagged on the ring pull. Lnger term I wonder how long the batteries will last, and whether this could have been fitted with a rechargeable high power battery, maybe when they do version 3.0.

It used to take me at least 5 minutes to open some finger-numbing cat-food cans (twice a day) with a safety opener, so this has been one of my favourite buys: it opens even the toughest cans effortlessly, and I can just start it off and do something else while it works.
