You can convert the metric values over but this is what I come up with - Max pressure rating 1 MPa or 145 psi. Max force rating 70 Kgf or 154 pound feet of force. You can also calculate this by the cylinder diameter and the psi you are operating it at - 1 1/4" bore with 120 psi - 1.25"x120psi=150

The compressor will extend the air cylinder, it just may not do it quickly. The air cylinder requires pressure to push it out/pull it back, and based on the amount of output (cfm) of the compressor will determine the speed at which it can push it. The other factor is how much load or resistance you want to push. If it exceeds the compressor’s upper limit, then it would not be able to move it.

Q: Can you stop it in mid stroke and work from there either way

We typically operate with a pneumatic solenoid that is applying air to retract (normal position) and upon signal air applied to drive side which moves a table/in-line saw. The 3-way solenoid has constant air on either side, so ours is either extending to limit or retracting home. If you used independent solenoids, then you could stop the drive air mid stroke, although without air on either side the ram is free to move in either direction. To hold position, you would need to apply balanced air on both sides. So yes, it can be done, but not necessarily a simple set up
