AncolTimberwolf Leather Collar Blue to fit 26-36cm (sizeS)

This collar would be great if it didn’t leach blue dye all over our dog’s neck. So unless you really want a multi coloured dog then choose a different collar.We’ve had to buy a new one, which is a bit of a pain but at least this one is colour fast so no more blue, white and tan dog 🐶.He’s back to his natural colouring.After writing this review I discovered that my hubby had decided to put the collar in some water to see how much dye would come out of it.The photo is the result of his ‘experiment’.

This collar is very sturdy and is good at withstanding puppy teeth and claws!! Fits my 10 week old black lab with room to grow!!

After reading previous reviews for this product, I'm genuinely shocked at the poor quality of the collar. I put it on my Golden Retriever the day I got it, took him for a nice long walk by the lake. Within minutes of the collar getting wet, the blue colouring was rubbing off onto my dogs fur. Even the seconds it took for me to take the collar off my dog, my hands were covered in blue dye.

I always buy my dogs Ancol leather collars and they've always been fine. Just simple brown leather, nothing ostentatious. Fit for purpose. Have always bought their leather leads too, in matching colour. I tried these two new Ancol collars instead of the chocolate brown that I normally use. The sizing is all wrong in comparison to the standard medium size of their other collars. Far too big. Also annoyingly, there is no place to put the dogs' identity disc, which is crucial. The identity disc has to be put on the lead clip. I had to try and puncture another hole on one of them ( the other still in packet. ) The dog I tested it on found the collar too uncomfortable with the ID tag on the lead clip. Very frustrating. I haven't returned them as it's just too much hassle. My printer is not working and I am avoiding queues at The Post Office. I should be grateful if Ancol would send me one of their standard chocolate brown collars with a Separate ring for a ID disc as a gesture of goodwill. I have bought so many products from them over the decades on Amazon. Collars not fit for purpose.

I bought this collar about a year ago now. Since then we have taken our dog on holiday around four times, which involves her swimming in the sea and rolling around in the sand, pulling her two ‘hoomans’ along coastal paths as well as everyday home use. It has put up with a lot of punishment and still looks good and is going strong. The leather has softened, as leather does with time and wear, which is kinder for her neck but this in no way detracts from the durability.If I could change one thing I would have liked a dull silver/pewter colour buckle choice.
