Perfect fit - Seems to be an exact replacement
Took about 20 minutes to replace the handle. I have no issue with the quality. Seems to be equal to what was on my saw originally. Hint - After you open the old handle, take a picture of how the wires are routed before you remove the old handle. It will help installing the new handle. The only issue I had was that I stripped a screw that holds the handle to the saw, but that was my problem and had nothing to do with the new handle. Hint - when attaching the new handle, do not over tighten the screws, just make them snug. There are not that many female threads to hold the screws that holds the handle on the saw. If you over tighten them, you will strip it like I did.

Works great but get the new switch as well
This is a replacement handle for my Saul that broke because brittle due to age. I was so relieved to know I could replace this and instead of throwing away the saw. Took about 40 minutes Make sure you get the new switch that goes with it it is slightly different than the original and the old switch does not fit well

BE AWARE
The older Dewalt miter saws have a wider handle to fit the LONG TRIGGER ASSEMBLYThis has a narrower handle with a small TRIGGER opening. The rest fits perfectly, assembled with no problem and it works.

What’s a saw without a handle
The Dewalt saw was still in good shape, but the handle dry rotted. The trigger was a little different but was able to get it to work for this model.

Adequate replacement
The DW705 handle is inherently flawed. It's flimsy and this is the second time it breaks. It's nothing more than a handle to house the trigger and does not support any weight. The black handle above it is for carrying weight, but all too often we make careless mistakes and try to lift it by the wrong handle. With that said, you're probably reading this because you broke yours too. Mine broke and it had the old style handle and old style trigger. This newer handle fits, but requires a new trigger. You can buy that here on Amazon too: Electric SW38C Aftermarket Trigger Switch (Eaton Style) Replaces DeWalt 391926-01 and 391926-00 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009YWD16U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_N-zpybXG8K8AHI've included pictures of my model, the old broken handle/trigger, and the new handle/trigger.It works. My title says "adequate replacement" because I'm not happy that the replacement is just as flimsy as the original. While fixing it I almost made the mistake of lifting it by the new handle. DeWalt should've made this handle load-bearing but they did not. However, I still gave it a 5-star rating because the replacement got the job done.

not compatible
This product is not compatible with a DW705, not at least my model. You cant put it back together without having to modify it. The strain relief wont fit in the new housing. Pictured is the original, followed by the new one. The old one has a much larger hole for the wire assembly for the power input. The new one has a slot for the strain relief, but its not big enough to start with and then it cant handle the power cord behind it. Secondly, there are two tabs in the new one that interfere with the power wires hold down. This thing is basically DOA.

Perfect fit. Know your saw's make model and series type from the saw label
Nice fit; easy install. Take a picture of the old wiring routing it makes it easer to install the new handle.
