It turned out to be trivial (actually it was even kind of fun) to use and made OUTSTANDING connections. Given that the wires are completely sealed in the ferrules and wire coatings there won't be any oxidation even over the long term. Moreover, I know it's kind of silly, but it gave my system the polished look of a professional installation which I have to admit is both pleasing to the eye and very functional. Is this tool necessary to make good audio connections? No. But it's well worth the cost to make the step up from DYI to professional standards here. One note: I almost gave it 4 stars because it has a lot of ferrule options but not that many of the specific one that I wanted to use for my Nakamichi banana plugs. But, in thinking it over, the fact that it gave me three lengths of the 14 gauge ferrules to choose from should actually be a "+" and not a "-". Given that 1) there were plenty for my project and 2) I couldn't find them anywhere else, this versatility has to fall on the 'pro' side of the pro/con equation. The tool is decently made, the case is nice, and the selection and quantity of ferrules is great for doing some quick fixes.
