This definitely does what it's supposed to do, if you have a cold wallet this makes a lot of sense to have in case things get destroyed.

Item is exactly as described.On the plates though,it's difficult to write on with that metal pen,because the writing is not smooth,the letters come out as you are now learning how to write,as you are still in the elementary school.

Perfect size, comes with the necessary tool. Chiseling is tedious and can be difficult, but if the point is longevity, be patient. Ordered a second one and reviewing this now

It delivers on what it is. Manual etching is only going to be as good as your handwriting under duress. I'd recommend an actual engraver and/or letter template if you want words to read more nicely. It does take metal letter stamping pretty well if you happen to have the tools. Overall though, it is a nice little size and keeps phrases covered and out of immediate sight. However, I really wish they went for chicago screws on this, because those domed nuts really stick out in a not very convenient way. If this were flatter, I could put it in a wallet, but those screws/nuts are a star killer.

This product works just as advertised. It's always hard when you write the seeds phrase if you do it for the first time. Just do your best and don't understand your seeds. Store it well and you be ok. If there is a fire good luck with any kind of metal or alloy it will be destroyed. So don't expect too much. I'm happy with it. Will store it in the bank safety box or a made in USA safe box for safety.

Definitely good quality steel, I'd trust it surviving a fire or flood (depending on how severe). However, the engraving is not my cup of tea. It's very difficult to see even the deepest engravings, and leaves you guessing what each letter/number is. I think these plates coupled with a stamp/mallet approach would be awesome, the plates really do seem like good material. Just would recommend something that goes deeper into the plate.

This is a horrible product. Save your money. Not worth the time or the hand cramps you're going to get trying to engrave on such a small surface.
