Zatarain's Black Beans & Rice, 7 oz

So good & so easy. Goes with just about anything or can be easily mixed with meat and/or veggies to be its own meal. It has enough flavor that you don’t need to add anything but not so much that it clashes with other things & is low effort enough for the teenagers to voluntarily make on their own but good enough to be served as part of a steak dinner.

I just tried this maybe a week ago, and I’ve already reordered it twice. I don’t eat meat or seafood, so I can make a meal of this. Preparation is very easy - just add the packet to water and oil or butter, then bring it to a boil and simmer for about 25 minutes. I like to add about a half cup of frozen corn kernels and an equal amount of salsa while it’s cooking, and then serve it topped with sour cream. It has just a kick of spice to amp up the flavor, but not so much heat as to burn your mouth or stomach lining. Highly recommended.

The products from Zatarains are super flavorful, easy to make and close to real thing. Unless you want to make the roux, find and chop all the peppers, onions, garlic, spices etc by yourself this is the next best option without spending a fortune

OMG....toss this in your InstaPot cooker with some chicken or sirloin strips. Especially with sirloin, the flavor combo is delicious. It's also great when the leftovers are reheated.

I didn't grow up eating Rice & Beans of any kind, but my husband did. He was the first one to buy this and he & the kids liked it a lot. I was late to the party, but once I tried it, I really liked it! One or two boxes were the basis for a fast & delicious dinner. My oldest, who's a vegetarian, began sauteing broccoli and such to add in to the finished mix, and that just pumped it up that much more. We'd usually saute onions & peppers and add those, as well as the veggies. Topped with a little shredded cheese and a small dollop of sour cream (if desired), it was a good, hot meal. Sadly, about a year ago, all of our local stores stopped carrying it, and I was afraid that Zatarain's stopped making it. We tried other brands, but they fell short. Then I found it on Amazon, and was thrilled!. Recently, though, it hasn't been available on Amazon, either... :( WTH? I'm praying (okay, that's extreme, I'm just really hoping) that they bring it back, since it's been a staple here for years.

Delicious side dish. So versatile and nutritious. I buy the case cuz I always want to have it on hand.

Good tasting product, but way over priced. Will no longer purchase until the price comes down significantly.

Good product but went from 70 to 120 for 12 boxes... No that good anyway, I should never had paid 70 for 12 boxes anyway.
