HIC Harold Import Co. HIC Trussing Needle, Single, 18/8 stainless steel

I can't imagine how it could be bad, but I'm sure it could be.This feels solid, like the needle that my family had for trussing chicken, goose, duck, or turkey.Even if you're not good at trussing, it helps to at least get the thighs, and you're not doing that without a good trussing needle.

I got this needle to assist in making cocktails in an ice sphere. Google it, it's really cool.Freeze water in Tovolo spherical ice molds  Tovolo Sphere Ice Molds, Set of 2  for about 4 hours (not enough time for the sphere to freeze solid, just enough to get an .5cm shell, liquid center). I originally used the hollow needle of a butterball marinade injector to drill through the ice and drain the water, but an overly thick ice shell bent that needle. I got this solid trussing needle instead and it works beautifully (although I haven't tried punching through anything extra thick and hard yet).The only thing I wasn't expecting was the flared tip towards the needle's point (hard to see in the given amazon picture). The needle is round, about 3mm diameter and the flared-flattened portion is about 5mm wide. Never having needed to stuff a chicken, I don't know if that's typical for these needles.

Very good quality, the perfect size for me. Liked because it's a straight needle and has an easy to thread eye. Have not used yet, plan on using it when I can barbecue chickens in summer.

I like it. It’s pointy and does exactly what it’s supposed to do, which is be a big needle.

Used this to truss up my first full pig roast for outside smoking this last Labor Day. Worked well in piercing the skin, very sharp. I recommend being very careful, and also applying more pressure than you might expect. Also, I might consider purchasing another type that might have a more protective end for the palm of the hand when pushing the needle through the skin of the pig.If you need this for turkey or chicken trussing, I'm sure it will go through easily.

Great for trussing birds. Great size for chicken and turkeys. The large eye makes it easy to run think thread through it.

The trussing needle is a great kitchen tool. So much easier than those trussing kits they sell at the supermarket. Now I want to try stuffing every kind of meat.

I like everything about this item except for one. It needs to come with some kind of protective guard. It's an 8" needle that can easily be misplaced or roll under another item in the drawer. I'm iind of scared that one day I impale myself with it while rifling through the kitchen drawer looking for something.

It is exactly what I was looking for.Seems to be good quality product, would be perfect for tying sausages.

Who doesn't love to truss a turkey? Actually I used this to tie together 2 pork loin for a crown roast.Worked perfectly with the butcher's twine i also bought on amazon.

Used this to tie up a pig spit. Worked great, right through the uncooked skin.
