Purchased the 42" iCrate with divider. PERFECT! Have a 50lb 10mo old Smooth Collie / Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler). He was sleeping in a 36" crate where his head and rear touched the ends of the crate. The extra 6" has made a world of difference. Opie can stretch out now... and doesn't come out 'unfolding' and acting like he's been in a vice all night. It's not quite the 'romper room' he has in the 48" iCrate, but again, this one is for "Night-Night"... and gives plenty of room for such. When we first got our puppy, we bought a 36" Beagle Crate from Walmart for $67. We were using the Beagle as his bed (in the bedroom) and needed a 2nd crate for the Family Room, but wanted a larger crate; one he could play in too. Then we found the iCrate by Midwest. The Beagle was very well made but much more expensive in comparison! After lengthy discussions whether to buy the 42" or the 48" we chose the larger 48"... and use it in the Den. Yes, he had a couple of accidents, but we put the divider in, and the accidents stopped. It's been about 4 months now and we've moved the divider a little at a time and it's finally out! No more accidents! Of course, he's also out of the crate more and has bells at the back door to tell us when he needs to go out. Anyway, we decided to replace the 36" Night Night crate with a 42"... and chose to stay with the iCrate because of durability and price. It comes with a divider, which we've not needed, but it's there... and we're thinking about maybe getting another dog (later in 2017). The divider may come in handy then! Double doors. Some have reported that the double doors make the crate weaker. I guess it just depends on the dog and his reaction to being crated. Opie has horrible separation anxiety, but with the help of a loaded Kong, a bone, and a dark room (yup, turn the lights off and say Night Night)... he does quite well. We only use the end door because of the relation to space and placement, but I don't think the double doors decrease the durability or strength at all. FYI --- The doors are large. Not so large to compromise the integrity of the crate, but larger than the doors on other crates I've seen. Nice!!! The latches are really nice. They are straight, which concerned me at first, but after using them I feel confident that they are safe. Also, the plastic pan in the bottom is really nice. It's not flimsy at all. It fits well, removes easily, and cleans up really well with a quick wipe. Collapsibility. Easy enough! It's big, so it's bulky. But it's not hard to collapse or expand. To unfold... Just pull up on a hinge until the box is evident, then pull out one end, then the other, lock it in place, and BAM... you have a crate. To fold... reverse the process. Oh, lock the doors in place first. Then fold in the door and backend walls. The side will fold down practically on it's own. It's like a really big briefcase. Of course, the larger the crate, the heavier, but... it even comes with a couple of 'suitcase' carrying handles. EASY! Breezy! Complaint --- The door actually opens the wrong way into the room I have crate in... and there's no other place to put it. I've turned the care upside down to put the door opening the correct direction for the room. However, the crate was not designed for this. The plastic bottom fits, but the door hangs a little different and is harder to latch. The wiring is tighter on the top than it is on the bottom of the crate, so upside down leaves the (now) top of the crate with large open squares. Some dogs could potentially get caught in their attempt to get out, and strangle themselves or cause damage to their ears. Since my dog is happy in his crate I don't see that as an issue for us... but I still watch for it. I just think it would be safer for the pet, possible make the crate more durable overall, and definitely more versatile for the owners' room arrangement, if the crate was made the same on the top and bottom. Hope my experience helps you in your decision. It's a great crate... Give it try!

As the owner of 6 dogs, I’ve gone through quite a few crates. This MidWest 42-inch iCrate for large breeds is excellent and I highly recommend it. What I like: • Sturdy double-door design with strong latches. • Folds flat for storage or travel. • Good size for larger dogs (71-90 lbs range). • Easy to set up and clean. It’s held up well in our busy multi-dog household. A reliable, practical choice.

I have purchased three of these crates in the 24"Lx18"Wx19"H size. I have several elderly dogs that need to be crated at night and while we are not home to prevent them from wandering around and peeing where they are not supposed to go. This size is convenient in several ways: 1) It can hold up to a 20lb dog comfortably, as long as it's a breed that's not too tall. All mine are terriers, but a leggy animal will most likely need the next size up in order to stand at its full height. My 40lb Boston terrier pit bull mix thinks it's super fun to ball herself up in there and snooze (with the door open, of course!), even though it's three sizes too small for her. 2) Its footprint is small enough that it can sit atop a bedside table or dresser if you have an animal that needs to be off the floor for any reason. 3) It folds easily but is extremely stable and quiet when it has been set up--the sides and top all align and fit together nicely and the wires don't rattle against each other when the animal moves around inside. 4) The crate tray has a non-skid surface rather than the usual slick plastic. I have a super-senior dog who digs underneath her blankets, so it's good to know she won't slip on the surface of the tray once she's underneath her bedding. 5) It is relatively lightweight for its size and quality. I have cheaply made, smaller crates that weigh as much or more than these do. 6) It fits into the front seat of the car if I need to travel with more than one animal. I love the side door because I can face it toward the driver side for easy access going to and from the vet, etc. And yes, I anchor it with the seatbelt and disable my passenger side airbag when I put the crate there. :-) The critters that chill out in these crates at any given time include a 10 lb scruffy terrier, two 12 lb toy fox terriers, an 8 lb chihuahua mix (I don't crate any of them together). They have plenty of head space and room to stretch out, even using fat bed pillows as crate pads. I will say that if we needed room for food and water bowls or kennel cups, I'd have bought the next size up. None of ours get fed in their crate and nobody's in potty training, so we didn't need to account for extra space to put bowls or pee pads. I highly recommend this crate in this size for small dogs. I can't vouch for any of the other sizes, but I've been very happy with my purchase. After using them for several months, they are still rust-free, quiet and the door latches work well without any grabbing or sticking.

When I first got this crate, I knew I wanted to use it for crate training, however, I seriously had no idea what I was doing. Nada. Zilch. I thought we were all set. We have the crate. We have the puppy. Now what? It comes with a divider. I thought the divider was for two dogs, until my daughters fiancé showed me how to use it :-) If anybody else doesn’t know, the divider is designed to give them just enough room to turn around, lay down comfortably and sleep. You can adjust the divider as the puppy grows. Apparently, if you don’t use the divider, they will potty in the crate. The crate is working well for our puppy. I felt like a meany at first, but, it all worked out. Our puppy will randomly visit her crate during the day and does not see the crate as a punishment. The assembly is super easy. It’s strong, it’s sturdy & it’s actually bigger than what I visualized. It has this tray in the bottom that slides out for easy cleaning. The doors and latches are easy to use. It is definitely chew proof! It is difficult for me to adjust the divider as she grows, so I try to do that when somebody strong is available to help. I would definitely recommend this product. Update: Today we are still using this crate. The puppy is now five months old, and I also have a 12 year old the same breed - Border Aussies (Australian shepherd, mixed with border collie). I’m working on training them for different things, and every single time I say, the word crate, it’s a race to see who can get into the crate first! It’s more useful than just for potty training. It makes them feel safe, give them their own space to relax, and in our case or useful tool for other types of training. I certainly feel like we got our moneys worth out of it. I love it how the dogs still use it. I hope this review helps you!

When I was searching for a crate for our growing puppy (Bull Mastiff and Neo Mastiff mix) I needed something that would accommodate her rapid growth. I search on amazon prime and found this great price on the Large Midwest iCrate. And LARGE it is. (Make sure you measure the space you want to put it in b4 putting it there) Not only was it below my price range it also was double door access for easier placement in the house. It also has a easy take out plastic tray on the bottom. The best part, it came with a spacer panel, that way my crate could grow with my dog. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!?! I ordered right away. It arrived on the date that was expected. So far everything was great. It is VERY heavy so moving the box in was a little bit of a task for me but I managed fine. The iCrate was folded down so it was super easy to literally pop up and lock in place. It also slide nicely across the floor without damaging anything. (I still wouldn't recommend sliding anything across wood floors without a towel or something to move it across with). The adjusting panel that came with isnt hard to understand how to put it on, but it is a bit tedious and you actally have to get in the crate and pull/push the bars around the hooks of the panel. Also if you are using the space panel you will not be able to use the side door until the panel is back far enough for you to be able to open the door. The ONLY reason I gave this 4 stars is due I the fact that 2 bars were bent (nothing that would effect how it works) and I have to fenagle the locks to lock properly (MY 8,7 & 4 yr old kids can work it fine) Nothing that is so serious to return it. But enough to mention. This was probably due to shipping. Also, the metal used is kind of "cheap" if you will. I do not recommend this crate for elderly or disabled persons (unless you have someone to assist in helping get it where/how you want it). Other than that it is great!!! My dog love's it and so do I. Definitely worth the money with no complaints)

This crate works great! I chose it specifically for the double doors, i have not needed both yet but I knew i would likely end of moving the crate in time and wanted the option for a different set up. It was easy set up, and has the divider for smaller pups or dogs. Great quality.

This is the second Midwest crate I've ordered in the past week. The first was the Midwest Lifestages Double-Door Folding crate. I ordered this one because it is 25" high, not 27" high. I can fit this one in the back of my Taurus wagon, unlike the taller crate. Pros: It's a crate. It fits in the back of my Taurus wagon. The door latches have a smooth action, thanks to the paint. It folds up more easily than the Petco crate I purchased a year ago. It has rubberized feet that protect floors from getting scratched. This is a big deal for me, since our house has hardwood floors. As an added plus, the feet make it a lot easier to slide in and out of the car. The price is very good. Quality seems fine. It has two doors, which gives it more flexibility in terms of use. It has only one latch to keep the crate folded for carrying instead of two. This is a plus because those latches stay closed only if being used to keep the crate folded. Otherwise, they flop open and can get in the way. Having only one is a plus under these conditions. Cons: Initial setup is a pain. Midwest ships these so that you can't unfold them out of the box. These crates are designed in such a way that you push down on the top side of either the front or back in order to release the top catch. The front (or back--whichever you used) will then fold inward. The side walls then collapse and fold. Midwest has decided that neither the single latch nor the flat shipping box is adequate for keeping the crate flat during shipping. They pack the crate so that one of the side latches (not one of the top) catches against a wire. This is a major, major pain to deal with. I use a screwdriver to help lift apart the two wires, and then have to use force to get the catch to slip over the wire it's catching upon. This is hard to describe (obviously), but believe me, it takes a lot of time, patience, and leverage to do this. Expect some minor paint chippage. Also, now that you know what to look for, inspect this area on the next crate you order so you can see if you get a returned crate from someone too frustrated to figure it out. This crate will probably not be good for dogs that want to escape. I like the fact that it seems easy to pop up and down, but for people whose dogs aren't good in crates, this could be a major problem. The wires aren't really bendable, but for a determined dog who's gone nuts with anxiety, it may be possible to spring some of the catches. The dog could become lacerated. I would probably recommend a hard crate for that kind of dog, as well as consistent crate games to get the dog used to the idea that the crate is a good place to be when Mom or Dad is gone. Final Thoughts: Although it took me longer to write the Cons section, overall, there are more pros to this crate than cons. The price is excellent, and for a 2-door crate, you can't beat it. Also, it fits in the back of a station wagon, so for people reluctant to use crates in cars because of fit concerns, check out this crate. I'm glad I bought it, and I will probably buy another. Maybe 2. I am not sure it's possible to have too many crates for home or auto.

Really pleased with this dog crate! It’s the perfect size for my Yorkshire Terrier puppy, and the divider is such a useful feature. I can make the space smaller for her now and easily remove it as she grows, so I won’t need to buy another crate. The crate itself is sturdy, lightweight, and feels like great quality. It’s also very easy to assemble, and I can easily carry it up and down the stairs, which is really handy. I love the thoughtful details too like rubber non-scratch feet to protect the floor and no sharp edges anywhere. Another nice bonus is that the instructions include helpful tips for crate training your dog, which is great if you’re new to it. I actually got mine through Amazon Resale as “used – like new”, and it was amazing value, honestly looks brand new. Overall, a fantastic crate, safe, practical, and great value for money. Highly recommend!
