We had this a five years ago and purchased another for our new cover because it held up so well.
These are great cover lifters for a hot tub. This is our second one from this company and it has a few more bells and whistles than the first. I will be so happy if this one lasts as long as the first one did. It is easy to install once you empty the water out of your tub to put fresh water in. We incorporated it at the time of changing the water, so it wasn't a hassle. It is a very sturdy cover lifter!

This cover lift makes it a breeze to take the cover on and off
For those who don't want to read further, we love the cover lift and it has made taking to cover off and on a breeze!I actually had to wait 3 months to fully install the cover lift, but that is a whole different story and includes not getting a cover when the hot tub arrive. (long story :-) )Now for those who want to continue reading, first off I know there are cheaper cover lifts out there, but this was one of the few lifts that didn't require me to drill into the side of our new tube. Now I'm sure it's fine to screw into the side of the tub, but not something I really wanted to chance after waiting 4 months to get the tub (yes on top of the additional 3 months for the cover. As I said, long story :-).Placing the lift fairly simple, especially if you check out their installation videos which are pretty straightforward. There are a few things to keep in mind when your doing the installation, the first and most important is you have to install it with the hot tub empty (since you need to slide the plates that are attached to the slide guides under the hot tub). When placing the slide guides you want there to be enough clearance so the 2 bars on the sides can clear a cover that is placed on the hot tub. (I found an inch out was good enough for the cover I got.) Also while placing the slide guides you want the back portion of the guide to be just at the end of the hot tub. A trick to make it really ease to place it is grab a board and place it against the back of the hot tub, then just slide the whole guide assembly up to the guide board.Assembling the hanger bar that the cover goes over is straightforward, but be warned that the self-taping screws take a lot of pressure to cut into the bar before they screw tight. (And I do mean a lot of force, and they are fairly short!) Once the screws tap in they are good a solid, and their are extension bars that are added in during this process, that helps to reinforce it. Also when you are setting the length of the side bars (going up the side), you want the center bar that lays on top of the cover to be about an inch back from the center line of the cover. After everything is screwed in, you should easily be able to flip your cover in half over the center bar, and then lift on the sidebar to bring it up and behind the hot tub. If everything is placed right, the folded cover should hang just beyond the back of the tub. (Not, there is a pin lock you can slide in so the cover can't accidentally fall forward. which to me seems highly unlikely, but depends on how many clumsy friends you have. :-) )Additional note: This lift works perfectly for our 5'x6' hot tub, but if you have a really big tub I'm guessing the center bar may end up being a bit wobbly since it would extend so far. Just a guess of course.Well that's it, I hope I've help out. So to reiterate, I love the cover lift and it's made taking the cover off and one a breeze!

Happy Wife
My wife loves this lift. Now she can get the cover off and on the hot tub without anyone’s assistance. She loves it and so do I.

Challenging to assemble
The cover works great but the directions for assembling it were lacking. We even referred to the video for help.

Installation went well and product seems sturdy
Installation was less than an hour. Tubes are aluminum, so rust will not be an issue. Time will tell how the screws will hold up. They provide little plastic covers to hide them. I installed with the arms in front of the access panel, and there is still room for me to remove the panel and service/drain the tub. My tub instructions said to put the cover fold on this side for better efficiency, and it was the side we prefer it to open toward. There is a little wobble when opening from the side, but it seems fine. Closing is super easy with no wobble.

Great
Very pricey but works great

Great addition to spa ownership.
Follow the instructions in their video and assemblage will go smooth. Be certain that screw holes point OUTWARD when assembling tubes!! Works well. Seems slightly flimsy, but it’s not a real problem. I used gaffer tape to hold tubes in place to be sure assembly was correct before I drilled screws.,

Can't handle heavy spa covers.
I did like the overall design of this cover lift. It's relatively easy to install and easy to life the cover but it has one major flaw. The design can't handle a heavy pool cover, typically found in northern climates. Like many others who found the flaw, the pivot point is not designed for a heavy cover. The piping bends and eventually will break. After the piping nearly broke, I had to do some re-engineering to add strength to the pivot point. I added a piece of square steel piping to the pivot point and so far seems to be working but I shouldn't have to redesign this product. It really irks me that it's one of the more expensive cover lifts but can't handle a normal weight pool cover. It would only take stronger piping or a reinforced pipe to make the product a 5 star product. The weak pivot point makes the product a 1-Star product that should have been better design. I'd like to get in touch with the manufacturer and see what they can do for me but I can't find their address on Amazon. Bottom line - I would really recommend you stay away from this cover lift until they redesign the pivot point.
