As a drummer who decided to dabble on learning a new instrument, this was a great, affordable option. I had already purchased a decent Jackson bass guitar within my budget, and this was kind of an added bonus as I needed a practice amp and it just happened to come with some extras (including a 2nd bass guitar). As some reviewers stated, the frets are not rounded off which does cause minor cuts to the hand (but no bloodshed, and I’ve been playing for hours). The guitar is very out of tune out of the box but as a beginner, I was able to use this as an opportunity to learn how to do relative tuning and got it sounding pretty good. It’s a beautiful finish on the guitar and there were no damage issues with the contents although my box was a little damaged which is expected in transport. The amp alone makes this worth the money for me and it sounds great at low volumes and even at highest volume… honestly, the bad reviews I read seemed like they were from seasoned bass players who were looking to tear this item apart. I would say if you’re a beginner, or someone who’s never played bass, this is the best option for your money. I have been playing between both of my guitars for 3 weeks now and am happy with my purchase.

It's a very nice bass for beginners. I used to play bass in my teens but now that I'm older I want to pick it up again, thought it would give me something to do since I'm retired.

Good for the price with an amp. I changed strings to Rocksmith strings. The red never sounded clear as the others. Finally realized the bridge was wrong. Should have 2 left and 2 right parts. The one it came with had 1 and 3. Not worth hassle of returning so i ordered a new bridge about 10 bucks to fix the issue. Recently ordered a guitar from same manufacturer and that bridge is missing parts. Again easier to order new bridge... Over all its good for a beginner but check the bridge.

This was purchased for my disabled brother. Wow is all I can say. Amp is plenty loud. The beautiful blue/black color is outstanding. It has everything you need! pic, strap, wire, case and amp! He was so pleased. Thanks for this package deal!!

Good function

Explanation: I'm wanting to make some modifications to a decent bass I already have but was hesitant because it is a good bass as is and I don't want to mess it up. I thought buying a cheap bass to practice the mods on would be prudent, so that's what I did. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this Glarry bass. The set up was almost what I would have it right out of the box. Nice low action. Easy to play. Tone is much better than I was expecting. And it's lighter than I expected. The strings aren't great, but would be ok for younger kids starting out. And having just one tone knob makes it easy for beginners to get a tone they can work with. I caught the cyber Monday sale and picked up the complete package that included the amp thinking it would be good enough for my grandkids to play with and not be using my good one. The amp isn't anything great, but can be adjusted to a tolerable sound. It is small and light weight so I'm not surprised that it's a bit lacking in tone quality. But again, perfect for kids just starting out. It's a reasonable quality set up if you have a kid wanting to try out bass before investing a lot of money or who changes their interests frequently.

I played drums in the 80’s, had the best time!!! Wanted to learn bass guitar, this is just too good to be true. You can’t loose!!! Beautiful bass guitar with baby Amp. You can pay for books on how to play for less than 10 dollars!!!
