BLUES
Definitely a KEEPER ! Dialed in an amazing clean, overdriven and crunchy blues tone is achievable be it single coils, P90 or humbuckers. 3 channels and the effects rival my AC30 amp plug. It's size makes it convenient to transport, being a headphone amp adds consideration for anyone else when you jam at a high volume. This unit is a great value and built sturdily, it will last a long time if you're not abusive and are aware of it's location. Get one, you'll be HAPPY.

Tiny. Powerful. Sounds incredible.
Whats not to like about this tiny device? Its a Vox amp in your pocket. You can walk around your house with your guitar and a pair of headphones entirely isolated in a world of beautiful amplified guitar tones.I found the setup to be super easy, and very easy to find good tones on my Blues version of the Amplug. The gain selector is pretty straightforward and exactly what an amp owner would expect from them. The interplay is between the gain dial and the gain switch itself. Therein you'll find something for you. The effects are cool, the least interesting is the flanger/chorus which to me doest sound that great. Tinny and a little weird. The reverb setting is great on all levels. The echo is fun as well, but not really a good substitute for a true echo pedal. But get one please. Its an amazing tool to practice without disturbing people, also the ability o practice at cranked levels! Your family may be cool with you playing/practicing at room levels, but what about stage level? This device can simulate that fairly well. And for $40 its ridiculous to not get a few.NOTE: I also got the mini cabinet and it sounds great. As someone else said, perfectly loud enough to play along with a friend on acoustic.

Good Practice Tool
I had been considering this purchase for a while, & finally decided to pull the trigger. Not a bad unit with decent features for practice.Pros: compact plug and play. Different tones to choose from, & seems well made & sturdy.Cons: I use my phone to connect to the unit & practice playlists on my phone. Difficult to find a decent 1/8in jack-to-lightning cable to connect to the unit to my phone. I’ve been through 2 cables so far.I would recommend & buy again, but spend the money on decent connectivity cables.

This Headphone Amp has Amazing Sound.
I purchased a VOX AC30 headphone amp a few years back and while it worked fine, It just didn't have the sound I wanted. When the "Blues" version of the amp was released I watched the reviews for a long while before deciding to take a chance. I figured that if it didn't sound any better than my AC 30 I could return it.Well, I was really surprised at how much better this amp sounded than my old AC30. With a decent (not expensive) set of over the ear headphones the sound into my ears is close to what I hear with a good full sized amp. I can plug my laptop or phone into the AUX input and play along with some backing tracks. A perfect setup for practice in a hotel room.Like other VOX headphone amps, this one has three sound versions plus three Effects. Thus you can mix up 12 different outputs. There are Tone, Gain and Volume pots for fine tuning. Turning up the gain has the expected effect of producing a gritty over-drive sound. The tone knob does a pretty good job of toning down treble. The VOX plugs directly into the audio jack of your guitar, but I find this pretty inconvenient since it never seems to orient so that adjustments are easy to make while playing. As an alternative, I use a two foot long 1/4" audio extension cord. That is long enough to allow me to wrap the VOX over my lap for easy access. It also reduces the chance of breaking the unit's audio plug when sitting the guitar down.I've tried many different approaches to getting a truly portable guitar amp setup. Most end up clumsy or sound awful. The VOX Blues headphone amp is a home run by comparison to anything I've tried to date.I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a way to play and practice when guitar sound is not necessarily welcomed.

Its great
I am in love with this little amp. I bought the blues version and so far, I have plugged it into an R9. I was blown away by the tone! The first thing I heard out of it was reminiscent of Clapton's tone on Nobody Knows you from the Layla album. If you don't know what I mean, go and listen to that track! It has a nice little set of effects as well and decent sonic shaping abilities. Its perfect for practicing and will allow you to run a backing track right into it. The only downside I can see is the design. I can easily envision snapping the thing right off if one were to sit down abruptly with guitar strapped on. So, if you have an input jack in the location of a Les Paul or Tele, you need to be very mindful of your seated position. This is easily remedied by plugging it into a patch cord and giving it a little slack away from the body of the guitar (you would need an adaptor to do this). In conclusion, this is a great little piece of gear for the money and is a lot of fun for all skill levels.

Good idea, good sound, but very awkward to use.
I was very excited to get playing again after life got busy and my playing got put on hold for awhile. This little headphone amp seamed to be just the ticket for convenience and ability to play without disturbing other family members. My gig amp is just too large, heavy and loud to get out and put away quickly and easily. The Vox Amplug2 is a cool idea and works well. My issue is that you cant see the controls under my guitar, and I found myself fighting with my ear bud cord constantly. The cord on those small ear buds also make a lot of noise as it moves around as I play. The Amplug2 hangs off the bottom of my guitar so sitting on the couch and playing is not really possible without fear of breaking the pivoting plug off. I think a solid blue tooth headphone type combo would be better but I realize it would raise the price point significantly. It sounds good, I just didn't like the ergonomics of it so much that I didn't want to use it anymore.
