i don't know but it is easy to use heats up fast, for it to cool down its takes a while over two hours so make sure its not around children while its hot

Will this work on embroidery patches?

Yes it should. Place a piece of parchment paper underneath or between the garment. Place patch where you want it. Place another piece of parchment on top of patch. Use the press in circular motion on hottest setting for at least 20-30 seconfs

Could you iron with this too?

Yes. It would take you a while longer than with a regular sized iron

it can be used for custom iron?

It gets very hot like a custom iron and maybe even hotter. However, I don't think it's big enough for that purpose. It's small.
